Dig it: The 1970's are calling...pick up the phone and groove on the memories. When was the last time the Democrats ran the House and the Senate? When was the last time the Conservatives wondered what became of the GOP? When was the last time people craved an "energy policy"? When was the last time the word TAXATION was used in the same sentence as inevitable? When was the last time people considered Ford and Carter as Presidents? When was the last time Iran seriously threatened the USA? When was the last time AM radio ruled the airwaves? When was the last time music was as purposely bad as today? Dynamite! You remember the last time was the 1970s.
Trip out and go back in time to AM radio, a pick in your afro, corn rows platform shoes, bell bottoms, silk shirts, short shorts, large neck chains, mood rings, disco music, rollerskating mania, teen idols, Farrah Fawsett, the Brady Bunch, the misery index, high inflation, price controls, SALT, Annie Hall, and invention of the personal computer. Come join the fun--

'70s?...I forgot the '70s, except for those insipid "Bicentennial Minute" commercials....
Pittsburgh Steelers' coach Bill Cowher recently visited a local school to speak to a class of 4th graders.
Coach Cowher asked all Steeler fans to raise their hands.
One boy did not raise his hand.
Coach asked the boy why.
The boy replied, "I'm a Ravens fan."
Coach was shocked, "You live in Pittsburgh but you're a Ravens fan. How can that be?"
The boy said, "Well, both my parents are Ravens fans, so I'm a Ravens fan."
Coach said, "That doesn't make sense. If your mother was a prostitute and your Father a drug dealer, what would that make you?"
The boy replied, "A Bengals fan."
Yeah yeah...bicentennial minute was entertaining in the early stages but became annoying after a while. IIRC, Johnny Carson or SNL did a parody on those PSAs
Loved Gene Gene the Dancing Machine. How sad is that?
Oh well, blame it on youth.

Gene Gene was my favorite. I was blown away when I learned the host of the Gong Show, Chuck Barris, was an actual CIA assassin working undercover!
Pretty good cover. Good thing he didn't draw attention to himself.
Old Age Sux
A bad indicator is when they play Steve Miller's the "Joker" and Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein" on the oldies station.
Notice I say "Oldies" and not "Classic Rock"
A Rabbit Diesel!
I knew a guy who had one of those. He said it wasn't fast enough to get out of it's own way.
