Michigan clearly didnt deserve a rematch and I doubt Florida will do any better..closer than most expect but OSU is just better than every one this year

I think we all agree that USC is the best in the Nation...
However, should Florida win (slim chance) I think Boise deserves the BCS title.

Apart from its field goal kicker, Florida has excellent special teams. Special teams came up huge in several games, especially the South Carolina contest (I believe SOS will always be able to psych out the Florida teams he plays against; his legend at Florida is that deep).

Then there are the intangibles, which I suppose you could subsume under coaching. Thanks to Meyer, Florida has a toughness and self-confidence that spans the full quarters--something they haven't had for a long, long while.

I'm a resident of Columbus, so I'm biased of course. But let me just say that I've been worried against a few of OSU's opponents this year (and even predicted UM would win), but I have no real worries about this one. The key ingredients are Tressel's entire approach to preparation, and Troy Smith's brain. Smith's game preparation is very underrated. If the game comes down to the final 3 minutes, and Buckeyes need to march 80 yards, I have full confidence in Troy. OSU fans have to see that he is the best Buckeye QB ever.

IMO, everything comes down to whether or not Ohio State can pressure Chris Leak. If Florida can protect him, then they can make it a close game or maybe even win it. If Ohio State can harass him all night and force him to throw under pressure, then it could get ugly fast. The Gators will absolutely have to establish Deshawn Wynn and Percy Harvin as threats early on in the game to keep Ohio State's defense "honest", so they can't just pin their ears back and go all-out after Leak.

While Meyer does have Tim Tebow to fall back on if Leak starts making bad throws, I'd expect Ohio State to be able to defense him well, as most teams did toward the end of the season (unless, of course, Meyer has cooked up some new and inventive ways to use him). But he's still just a freshman, which means that he can't be expected to be able to carry the team all on his own. In a year or two, yes, but not right now.

I'm going to be rooting for Florida, of course, and win or lose I'm going to be very happy with this season and looking for the Gators to be really dominant next season. But if I had to put money down, I'd have to pick Ohio State to win and to cover the spread.

Prediction - Ohio State 31, Florida 21.

OSU is so tough, Florida is just going to get banged up like hitting a brick wall so many times. That is how OSU has been this season, a tough brick wall.

Mike,

I think your 34-27 prediction is close to the truth. Florida coach Urban Meyer will have the Florida team ready, and they won't be pushovers like Notre Dame is tonight.

I believe this will be very close. And I believe OSU would 1) NOT be undefeated if it had to play UF, LSU and Arkansas or if it were in the SEC 2) would not beat LSU.

It will not be an OSU blowout.

Something tells me it might be a lower scoringgame. Maybe 21-17. Does anyone know what conference the refs will be from. I assume it won't be Big Ten or SEC refs but rather they'll be from another conference. What kind of game will they call? I'll never forget th 1994 FSU-Nebraska game. The refs literally handed Bobby Bowden his first national championship.
