Is Free Republic a "Listserv?"

Is Free Republic a "Listserv?" If not, what is it then?

Sincerest thanks,

George

It's a forum. A web forum to be more precise.

Are you stupid or something?

Free Republic is not a ListServ. It is a light vegetable spread, mildly spiced, in a wheat gum base. It contains logic that unlocks the mystery of the large black spots on Rosie O'Donnell's back.

It may also be a wormhole that raverses the vast expanse of space between Al Franken's lone brain cell across Eleanor Clift's wide ass and finally reaching Alec Baldwin's left testicle.

Free Republic is the ghosts of voices past and present. It represents, at times, the highest goal of speech, and the lowest in banality. It gives fuel to the dreams of men and women around the world, and to the nightmares of would-be-despots.
But most of all, it is the most-read place on the internet.

It's a forum for conservative minded folks. You can post relevant news stories, and everyone can comment on them.

I think a more important question is: If we bump this all through the night until the Eastcoasters get up...will it eventually be a 2000 post thread?

I thought "listserv" was for e-mail management. How does this connect with FR?

How many freepers even know what a listserv is? This learned person needs to spend a little time reading.....the site. Or this is a techno-nerd/DUmmie's attempt at a troll. Wash your hair while yer at it dude.

That was completely unnecessary.

The kind of snide remark that has turned this place from a place like Jefferson, Washington and Hamilton used to debate into the bitter cesspool it is becoming.

And I've emailed a number of the other geezers and alot of them agree.

I'll bet a fair number of FReepers have been or currently are on listservs. I've been on several and continue to be on one related to my profession. It gives more privacy than a forum.

A quick google search finds this among other things.....

"According to Maryland Transportation Authority police, George F. Spicka, 59, sent two threatening e-mails to airport officials around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday. He tried to conceal his identity by using an anonymous remailer and called himself "George Orwell." "
