I think it's okay.
It doesn't preach much at all,
just shows some world stats.
They don't realize it, but they make a case for free markets and freedom. All those better off (roof over head, food on table, etc) are from developed capitalist society. It also makes the case that the "poor" in the US are mostly not-poor. So I'd better not hear any more from these people about the poor and how it's my fault for being a cold hearted, Republican, "wealthy" American.
And how much does your friend donate to third world citizens? You can tell him that red staters are much more likely to do so.
How would 33 live in an urban area if there are only 100 people total? And who is responsible for "reducing" our population to only 100 people, anyway? I'm guessing that if our population gets reduced to 100 people, either all or none of those remaining will be Muslim.
Just another lefty do-gooder attempt to make you feel guilty and shame you into giving more to stop poverty.

Why am I supposed to make the world better? (Not that I don't wish for a better, more rational, smarter, freer world) Who appointed these people to tell me what to want and do?
Why doesn't much of the world wise up and make it's own self and fascist governments better and more free? What about their choices and abilities to change their own countries, governments and stupid religions?
Why did the Western world (at least parts of it) choose freedom and liberty? Capitalism?
Most of the real crappy places and countries in the world have been around centuries longer than America. Why can't they get their acts together?
They could start tomorrow if they choose. What's stopping them?
Why doesn't some person (s) pick up a gun and kill Mugabe, Chavez, Kim Il Song (or Ding Dong, whatever his name is), Putin, the Iranian nutcases? Why didn't someone knock off Pol Pot, Mao, Hitler and all the other fascist creeps in the world before they killed millions? Bullets are cheap.
Why has Castro been alive this long while his entire country suffers and drive 53 Studebakers and Hudsons?

In any case, some of those numbers don't make sense. Fewer than half of North Americans and Europeans combined have attended any high school? And who are those five "people" who have a bank account, but no bed or housing? There are other problems (what does the ratio of military spending to development aid, aka the Mercedes for Dictators program, have to do with the relative sizes of the population?) but suffice it to say that this thing was written with an agenda, and the agenda wasn't to spread factual information. Snopes debunked a similar email list a while ago.
I think the problem appears to be with those people having kids who can't take care of them at less than $2/day income. Why are they having so many kids when they can't care for themselves?
Obviously, giving them more money will just increase the problem, so perhaps we should give them less.
Here's something to shoot back at you friend. Wealth is value. I person A sits on their land and does nothing with it, it is worth little. If I farm my land, put buildings on it, and generally develop it, it is worth a great deal.
Our wealth is the sum of my effort. Ask you friend if tearing down all of our cities and salting our fields would help anyone.
