OK.
Who's still crafting?
What are you doing?
Got any pictures?
Congratulations! More reasons for doing handwork, and less time. LOL
My best wishes for you all. :-)
Hey, Knitting! :-)
Just in time, thanks!
I''m making blouses for a daughter.
Bags and pouches for Christmas presents, and bags and pouches to put them in. :-)
Anyone here own or play with Janome's 6600 machine? Fast for quilting, computerized for pretty...
I've accepted the fact that I've got fiber ADD. I've been trying to enjoy my short binge periods, before moving on to the next binge. So I've been trying to start smaller, complete-able projects before I notice oh-shiny! on the other side of my workroom. ;-)
It makes for a cluttered workroom, but more completed projects, a happier crafter, and more supportive family (as they enjoy their quilts, bags, blouses and happy mom. :-).
This poor soul was fully involved in intricate miniature furniture making to assist in the creation of various "Dolly Tableaus". These consisted of the Dolls, with hand made outfits suiting the season or holiday, backdrops, custom made as well, small detail pieces to suit the theme and all set upon the wooden toy chest placed in the upstairs hallway.
The grandaughters when arriving for a visit would run to the stairs and go up to see what new event the dollies were attending. It might be a dinner party with miniature dining table (seven trips to the hardware store). It could be Independance Day with fireworks in day-glo on the midnight blue back drop and miniature plags. The dollies also went camping with a miniature forest (a nineteen foot sand cherry tree was cut down as these 18" branches were obtained) and a miniature camp fire with plastic clay hot dogs in buns. It was marvelous.
Husband was astounded at the outfits, accessories and decor that appeared from "The Galactic Sewing Room."
The wooden toy chest was moved to become a more central display and the fall approached for new and more delightful tablau to be created for the fascination of the Grand Daughters.
Husband kept his nose to the grind stone to assist in the purchase of new items needed for this venture. He didn't look after his health and developed an early influenza. Still, work must go on and out of town ventures to five cities with fever and no sleep brought Husband home with a 101.5 degree fever and exhaustion.
Spending saturday at the doctor's and at the pharmacy gave Husband hope that he might breath again and, who knows, maybe sleep!!!
But alas. Medicine in working its magic caused coughing too severe to allow such a pleasure as sleep. I had to get up at midnight to go sit in a recliner as I was coughing to much.
So as to not wake the hard working crafter who spends so many long hours working after work on these splendid dislays, I didn't turn on the light.
THAT IS WHEN I KICKED THE FIFTY POUND TOY BOX WITH MY BARE FOOT AT FULL STRIDE.

.
Remember, we had moved the toy box. When the light came on, my little toe was pointing to the side at a 90 degree angle.
I packed it in ice, because I knew that the emergency room would be four hours of sleep robbing delay. When it was burning numb.........I pulled it out and set it myself and feel into blissful sleep.
Those are so cool! Tell us how you do them, please. (No trade secrets, though. LOL)
And 'Amen' on your tagline. He's a hero-daddy/husband.
Gorgeous! I could curl up and take a nap, it looks so comfy and inviting. :-)
Wow, I'm such a slacker.
They are lucky to have all of that great love to hold on to. :-)
I have a needlepoint picture of sneakers that my grandmother made for my son. He was one of the older greatgrandchildren. She had 26 grandchildren so she was busy year round too. You are creating heirlooms!
Just a really good fabric paint and time ! Sometimes I sell them on Ebay.
We love our hero husband/dads!
They're gorgeous. They don't look 'after marketed' at all. Fabric paint like the little bottles at Michael's?
I have a teacher friend who lives in Ked's. I could get her hooked on a new addiction. Bwahahaha. ;-)
Yes, sometimes I use that type of paint! I will take it out of the bottles though.
I hope your friend pumps up her Keds.
You have mail. :-)
I'm scrambling to finish an Aran afghan for my daughter-in-law. Almost there! Wish I had a picture to show you. It's lattice, cable, and Aran Diamonds w/popcorns. Family Circle "Country Afghan" #4140 from about 1990.
oops. Wrong number on that pattern: it should be 44140
I saw that program too but missed the focus on the family stockings. cool.
Fiber ADD? So that's what I can call it now....Did finish hubby's socks and have knitted 1/3 of another sock...considering I'm trying to unpack and organize my house since I've moved, I consider that very good for me....
Those socks are funny. I am the absolute worst at starting a project and never finishing.
But that doesn't stop me.
I am looking for instructions on how to make the net ground for doing LACIS, aka FILET LACE. Does anyone have any links to on-line instructions? Or perhaps know of a book where it is detailed? Instructions for making fishing nets would also work.
TIA
You saved yourself a lot of bother by not going to the ER. You can't cast toes. You can buddy tape them to the next toe to help keep them straight. You can take analgesics for the pain. You can wear shoes to help protect them. But actually very little can really be done for broken toes. It takes six weeks to heal.
How do I know this? My big toe, left foot, is currently broken. Again.
Beautiful execution.
Needless to say, we moved the toy box back to the position 24" away, as it had been.
