Police: Sleeping Man's Genitals Set On Fire By Girlfriend -Couple Hospitalized With Serious Burns

A woman in Fulton County who was angry with her boyfriend when the pair went to bed over the weekend, poured gasoline on his genitals and ignited a fire, according to police.

Fulton County police said Bobby Thompson and his girlfriend Cynthia Covington had a fight Saturday morning and Thompson went to bed. However, Covington was still upset, the report said.

Covington then allegedly poured gasoline between Thompson's legs and ignited a fire. Covington also caught fire, the report said.

Both were transported to Grady Hospital's burn unit.

Covington was in critical condition Sunday night while Thompson was listed in stable condition.

Covington faces aggravated assault and arson charges.

I remember a couple of good ones we had through our hospital in the 80s - one was a woman who had a history of prostitution. She had said something to the effect of having johns better than her husband, he threw gas on her, she dared him to light it, so he did. I learned all sorts of new colorful language when we worked on her.

Another guy had his upper leg blown to smithereens by a jealous girlfriend. She caught him with his wife.

First of all, how on earth could anybody call the woman who poured and lit the gasoline “the victim”?!?

If (big if) the writer is correct and Payne is actually one or the other of the burned people's daughter, she could be the daughter of the man.

He is actually the victim of the assault, so it could be the correct term.

The photo caption on the website says, "A teenager woke up Saturday morning to find her mother and a man on fire."

So it was her daughter, and the journalist labeled the firestarter a "victim."

A victim of her own idiocy, I presume.

Some of those men were gay, others performed sex acts with men or women for money, authorities have said.
