First of all, how on earth could anybody call the woman who poured and lit the gasoline “the victim”?!?

If (big if) the writer is correct and Payne is actually one or the other of the burned people's daughter, she could be the daughter of the man.

He is actually the victim of the assault, so it could be the correct term.

The photo caption on the website says, "A teenager woke up Saturday morning to find her mother and a man on fire."

So it was her daughter, and the journalist labeled the firestarter a "victim."

A victim of her own idiocy, I presume.
