Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
EDIT! "I'm going there" NO, I'm not going there!
Gads... This was why I couldn't sleep, we had a little wind and I get up turn on the news and see ~that~
well, you know you ~have~ always said you wanted to see a hurricane...
I want to see a hurricane in Florida. While on vacation. Not in tall tree country :~)
That's pretty scary! I'll stop complaining about this nasty damp but not cold weather we've been having. Even if it did contribute to my flu.
Curry tastes really, really good right now. Spicy enough to get through my illness-clouded taste buds, and somehow soothing on my throat. Mmm. Even if it looks like something nasty.
there's just no pleasin' some people...
I can't be pleased right now, no. :~)
I didn't want to become my Dad. But I am just really nervous about wind this year. That whole episode with Cyn being afraid of the barn and the storms happening at the same time, whether related or not, just has me all in knots at the mention of wind.
Egads!
~sigh~
I gotta say...I got the life of Riley...whoever that is. I was just sitting at the table with almost an entire cold chicken in front of me to snack on, one jedi on my right taking a science test, the other on the left, eating a chicken sandwich. The house smells like gingerbread, the dishwasher's going and it's making that nice productive sound...the sun's shining, it's a nice pleasant day.
Forgot my little concerns and worries there for a bit!
<getting up from the computer and giving my code a rest>
<time for a couple of hours of housekeeping ...>
Sigh... maybe I should work from home. Or change jobs. Had a major stupid moment yesterday when I realized that the reason my code wasn't working the way I wanted is because structs in C# are value types, not reference types, and the list was giving me a local copy of the data. But mostly this is fun.
*If* I could figure out how to get just my section of the project to run. I need to test database calls!...
Our sister has spoken through the gifts. We will now wait for the interpretation...
ROFLOL!!!
Oh Corin...that really made me laugh! Oh my stars, i got tears in my eyes...
But I *was* kinda going "huh?"
You know.... my mom says basically the same thing when I post about how my day was on our family board. I usually just tell her to see Dad for the interpretation.
Basically I was using what I thought was my actual data. But it turned out the code was making a copy of my data. The changes I made never got saved.
They're going to be red and green. I'm practicing on some plain sugar cookies right now...
I was just now msixing up the frosting with the red food coloring and thought "Wow...that red food coloring looks like blood...I should pour some on my arm and start screaming!"
I thought it would be a funny joke to pull on the jedis...but thought better of it. The food coloring's too expensive.
BTW, I mailed the DVD of last year's show out to you this morning.
(others interested in seeing it, let me know)
Thank you!
*snort* I agree with you. ;o) He always seemed a little too 'slick' for me. Felt the same way about Elvis.
Sheesh. Some folks on that thread would really have a conniption if they knew I was considering pouring red food coloring on myself and screaming bloody murder.
The thing is, I know my kids could handle it and get a good laugh.
Anyway, here's my cookie prototype...it's just an experiment at this point, the final product will be on (darker) gingerbread cookie and I'm considering getting some black frosting at the hobby store for tires.
Glad she inspired you to get something productive done... She made me want to whack her with a fish ;~)
Ha hah!!!
Jedis thought that was funny too.
