Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Yeah - won't last long :)
If I use a semicolon, I know I'm out of control. :~)
Congratulations to thegirl for her spelling bee win! And the best of luck in Springfield!! LSA & OB

Not to mention the truly awkward phrasing of that sentence. Doesn't Mrs. Stormhands talk about diagramming sentences?
How about "Neither my college English professor, nor my wife the English teacher, care for an excessive use of commas."
Still awkward, but better ...
Lost is also on the ABC.com website to watch. Shows up at 5:00 EST the next morning. It's how I watched all through the fall since I can't get home from choir by 9. I'm okay now that it's on at 10.
In other news. Comcast and Sinclair (SP?) the company that distributes the FOX channel programming are in "discussions" about their continued relationship. It might mean that locally Comcast drops the FOX channel.
There will be rioting in the streets if we have to miss 24, and we'll be joined by the Americn Idol fans.
But, in the short term, should it happen, I may need a cookie recipe just to ease the pain.
In related news, Verizon marked our neighborhood yesterday for the installation of fiber optic cable. I'm switching the moment it's available.
I've got a semicolon; and I'm not afraid to use it!
Yeah, that's the word I got.
Me, too ... I love the dash --- and the ellipsis ...
And semi-colons; you can do so much with a semi-colon ...
I refuse to accept responsibility for anything written after 11:00 p.m. EST.
But that were an awkward sentence.
It goes on for a mile or two like this, but I can't find anything but little dinky pictures on the web.
Orson Scott Card uses them, too. A lot.
I still like my dashes better - they divide sentences so neatly!
Ouch...doesn't look like fun at all.
Where is Snoqualmie? West of Seattle?
The weather ~event~ occurred mostly "north of the river" and south of the metro area; the g'nad's area was not included in this storm.
The snow storm has moved way north of us, in fact, they have closed I-29 at the Iowa border due to blizzard conditions. Glad this one didn't hit us!!
I like the elegant way that semicolons suggest a pause, and yet a continuation; there is less of an abrupt change than the cruder dash.
East of Seattle... it's the "main" pass over the mountains to Eastern WA.
Yeah, It is looking pretty nasty over on the west side of the state. We are just getting the edge of it. They closed the freeway headed out of town to the north already. I think it is due to grind over us tonight and tomorrow. I wonder how many folks still don't have power from the last one. I wonder if I should go get a generator...
I tend to over-use ellipses... not sure why... but it might be that's just the way I think... never really sure that I'm done with a thought. Or not.

Mornin' folkses...
