I haven't made curry since I've been here. Something wrong with that.

Now that it's getting colder, it'd be a good meal to make one of these nights. Leftovers are a bonus.

Very nice job on thebug, and tell theboys I think they did a great job on the tree too!

We too have an old car...95 van with about 170k miles on it. We'll just baby her along and drive her into the ground.

Thekidz had their Christmas show Sunday night. The girl had the lead with another homeskool kid. She did a perfect job with her lines and expressions. However, twice, I saw her talking to other girls during the performance...she was encouraging them (and probably instructing them) about how good they were doing. :-) Theboy played Joseph...he was disappointed that he didn't have any lines or singing parts...and he was horrified about the choice of his costume. :-)

We have curry leftovers for lunch. If I eat. I appear to have Death Flu. And of course I don't have any sick leave yet and there doesn't seem to be an unpaid personal time option. Ugh.

So, 2J... can I take a full dose of ibuprofin, DayQuil, and use multiple shots of chloraseptic spray, or am I likely to put myself into an altered state?

*snicker*

Regarding your van...I'm always happy to hear it's still more or less alive. ;-) Gives me hope that I'll get a good long time outta mine. Mine only has about 114k on it so far...

Course, it's also rusted out underneath. *sigh* One of these days it needs some work on shocks and struts...so the last guys to look at it said. But for the most part, it's really been a good little van.

I'm guessing the folks at work would rather not catch it, whatever it is...

So, speaking of Christmas shows, last weekend...I ran into the youth pastor who was in his Biblical costume. He said, "I never realized how easy it was to pee in a skirt." I told him that was on the list of thing I never wanted to hear my Pastor say..."

So there's that. ;-)

In other Christmas show news, he's a good bit older than theboy, but our Joseph just got the lead in a production of Footloose.

That said, I've said to the missus recently, "Ever think about going to a normal church?"

Well, if that were an option, it'd be nice, wouldn't it. But I haven't earned any sick time and there doesn't seem to be an unpaid personal day thing available and I haven't been here long enough yet to know how to get things classified.

Stagger them...put 3-4 hours between the doses...and you'll be ok. Ibuprofen is hard on the stomach, acetamenophin (Tylenol) is hard on the liver. Of the two, I'm most leery of the Tylenol.

The spray is ok...

If you want to be in an altered state, do Nyquil. No kidding, that stuff puts me in an induced coma. LOL!

My van is a 96...Got it when Matthew was a baby. The engine light's been on for about 2 years. LOL!!

Yesterday the kid that goes to Latin with Matthew (his mom had surgery on her knee, so we take him) was listening to me fret about being late...he said "Put it in to warp drive!" And the idea of my Ford Aerostar achieving warp drive struck me as so funny.

The pastor at the church down the street is apparently leaving. We went to church this past Sunday and he was thanking the church and telling anecdotes and Steve and I looked at each other over the boy's heads and just shrugged. Then his wife got up and cried and read from her diary and sometime during that we figured out they were leaving.

Just figures we'd start going to that church and the pastor would up and leave. He was pretty good, too.

Now's a good time for that church to go really contemporary.

Which is why I didn't take any NyQuil. Thought about it at 3 am but I needed to be alive this morning.

Thanks. I'll try staggering things. I will probably use more NyQuil than ibuprofin since the buprofin does nothing for my congestion.

Dayquil?

If you want to stay awake, try Sudafed. One dose of that and I can't sleep for 3 days.

Don't drink an alcoholic beverage if you take motrin or tylenol (other than what is prescribed in the Nyquil, which is a shot of alcohol). The combo is too hard on your liver or stomach.

You can take pseudoephedrine and alcohol. Like a couple of Sudafeds and a hot toddy tonight. It will ease your congestion and help you sleep.

A warm shower in the evening, a hot toddy on the couch, wrapped in a blanky...sounds good to me right now and I'm not even sick! LOL

I wonder if they'd let you go in the hole on sick days, like they're going to do for you with vacation.

Alternatively, pump the fluids, take it easy, and duck out the second the clock hits quittin' time. ;-)

Good morning all :~) A little blustery last night, enough to keep me awake after I woke up at midnight.

Rosie, we're supposed to get some more wind tonight and Friday... it'd be a good idea to store some water, both drinking and toilet, in case we lose power for a little while again.

According to company policy I can't use any sick time at all until I've been employed for ninety days. I do, however, plan to head out a bit early. I can work an extra hour Thursday or something.

Drat, company party Friday so it'll have to be Thursday that I make up any time.

Got a couple bottles of each...could probably use more flushing water, but I should be able to make do.

Yeah, it was LOUD last night! Especially with that downpour in addition to the wind. How were the horses?
