Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Community college only offers associates degrees. Mostly kinda general ones.
On the bright side, if my CCAF credits transfer, I'm probably close to two-thirds of the way through a degree. I think I had sixty some credits and associates degrees (there, at least) are ninety.
I suppose the chances they'll take everything are slim, though.
That is very pretty...I like it.
Doesn't mean you can't meet them, say hello, chat em up a bit, get to know them. It might get them thinking about one of their single friends... One never knows, does one?
So we can assume you no longer work for that company? ;o)
I am bored so I think I will go home now.
Is that your new front door? It's lovely!
SirKit found an aluminum front door on eBay the other day. It was just gorgeous!! The design of the lites in the door was very 'Arts and Crafts' and Frank Lloyd Wright. It would look fantastic on a prairie style house.
You'll never know until you try. Do take various classes to see if there is something else you might like to do.
SirKit got tired of doing the corporate thing, and is looking to get into contracting and building; things he's always enjoyed, but never thought he could support a family doing. Since our kids are now grown and mostly gone, we have the flexiblity to live on less and try something new. He may actually try some statistical consulting while doing the building stuff, but he's excited about the construction work. It allows him to do what he does best; solve problems, especially if we're working on a house that has already been built. We'll have to work with what's there, and if we want to do something different, figure out how to make that happen. We're already doing that with our house here. There are aspects of it that we've never liked, and we're now being able to change those things, and add new rooms and bathrooms because of the changes.
You are in a perfect time of life to make changes. Go for it!
Depends on the community college. I got my first two years in comp sci at the local one. I have a degree and everything and they transferred my credits to a four year school. Call them and set up an evening appointment to talk to a credit counselor, he can tell you if your stuff will transfer.
General degrees? Maybe... the one I went to wasn't that big and it offered things like comp sci, mathematics, biochem, dental hygeine, welding, six different culinary degrees... all sorts of things.
I went into a field that I totally do not have the degree for. The sink-or-swim intern phase was a little overwhelming, but... for all of this job's faults, I thank heaven I'm not teaching any more.
It's totally scary - and extremely stressful. I wouldn't have been brave enough if it hadn't been for Big'ol. You're luckier - you've got a support net stretched all across this continent rooting for you.
Sharp! Good choice!
Thanks!
Yes, my new door. I was getting tired of the old one not closing right - neither the real door nor the storm door - and thesunroom guys ran a 55% off sale. I just couldn't resist! Its insulated steel...with a nice storm door to keep any wizards from scratching marks on it!
...should I repaint the windows to match?....
Maybe when the weather warms up. it's still winter out.
Looks like Miss Kitty likes the fullview storm door!
I can leave the door open now that the storm doesn't gap 2 inches and she'll be able to lay out in the sun and watch the street.
And leave little noseprints all over the glass.
Oh hey. Lookie.
