The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Posted on 12/01/2006 12:55:15 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Glenn Beck just asked "Does global warming cause weight gain?"

Good morning.... I see some remodeling work is happening... winmag has found footage of a boss we all apparently used to have... anything else happening? Oh - overtaxed didn't blow up her car... what was that about?

Saw a funny line in a FR thread: "Al Gore is becoming a warm globe" Heh..

So I didn't watch the Oscars at all. Didn't even really realize it was on... too bad, looks like LF had a fun thread.

I had fun. Stayed up way past my bedtime, tho. Which is funny because the freezing rain took out the satellite dish: I didn't watch the Oscars either! LOL

I figger somebody got blowed up in the race.

In other news...

Jr. said he didn't feel well this a.m. But I sent him to school anyway. He called his Mom (at Virginia Beach at a conference) from the clinic and went home...sigh.

Put a new pair of pants on Luke. Only realized at the sitter's that they're too big. He said he could keep 'em up. I remain skeptical.

I don't think I'm in the running for any parenting awards at the moment.

So I didn't watch the Oscars at all.

Me neither. When I realized that the only nominated film I had seen was "Cars" I decided not to waste my time.

Jr. channel surfed over when they were doing the list of people who died last year, but I missed most of that as well.

Painting the rest of this week. Hopefull flooring next weekend and then trim to finish. At that point we will be ready for the couch on the 17th.

I turned on the tv just in time to see Melissa Etheridge kiss some woman. I went "What the...????" then, "Oh, this must be the Oscars."

I wish I could take a brillo pad to my eyes.

Anyways...good morning! We had a great weekend. It was warm and pretty and we're replacing the screens on our front porch. TCDTS put out a big dumpster to collect anything the congregation felt they needed to get rid of...anything that might make them stumble.

Steve and I kept threatening to throw each other in all day and at one point I suggested we take lawn chairs down there and watch. Of course Steve replied that I really should be thrown in...

I barely know him well enough to nod hello, so the chances of that happening...

But I suppose stranger things have happened.

Ungh...Monday. Can I skip ahead to five o'clock yet?

No, I didn't blow up my car. Dale Jr. "blowed up" and finished 40th in the race yesterday. Bummer.

He's just tryin' to keep the thread family-safe, Corin... plenty of things to do in an ice storm...

Like go to Home Depot and try not to get hit by chunks of ice from the sky. We did that. Or laugh at the dogs falling on their faces in the yard.

Heh - have you got any of that blue dog ear cleaner left? If so - can you bring it over tonight? Homer's gonna have to have a round of ear treatment.

Still have some...not sure how much. I'll bring what there is.

If you can talk the vet into letting me buy more without having to do a whole office visit deal, I'd happily buy a new bottle for you and one fer me, too. With warmer weather coming soon, I'm sure I'll need it.

Need to see if they'll let me get another tube of kitty eye ointment, too. *sigh*
