Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Well dang...our power is out. Apparently a truck hit a powerline up the road a bit. Rumor over at the store has it that it was a propane truck, which sounds pretty scary. there was a strange hum and a bang when it happened.
Gonna be a real bummer if it isn't back in time fer Jack.
Posting from daphone, if anyone's wondering.
At least you know where to find the cookies if need be.
ACK - Jack..
Hope you get power back soon!
I saw on IMDB that Aaron was supposedly in hours 3 and 4, but I never saw him.
I was going to bed, but I basically signed back on to say AAAAAAAAAIIIIIEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
So, there's that.
Gotta be one of the fastest 1/24 of a day on TV these days.
Yeah, but cookies require waiting. We don't have *time*!
Hair and ecurbh went off to see if they can see what's going on.
Heh, firing up the generator for a TV show may seem excessive, but it *is* Jack....
Ah... just got a call from Hair and Ecurbh. Was going to to pass on info to that effect.
I've searched the Olympian and NWCN and PSE and haven't found any more info.
But I did find this:

Our favorite poet, Maya Angelou was apparently speaking at Evergreen today. She says we should all be "rainbows in the clouds".
How... appropriate, for Evergreen.
Yah. It *is* Jack. I mean... c'mon...
I'll say!
Got any lamps? I like oil lamps. I light them all the time when there *is* power...just because I think they're pretty. I have plenty of oil and wicks...stocked up for Y2K, you know...
You can get a small oil lamp at walmart for about 5 bucks or a larger one for 6 bucks.
Hey, I had a bit of a to-do with the guys at Blockbuster video. They told me one thing, I begged to differ and had a bit of a mild argument, with the boys standing right there. I left after telling them I thought they were wrong.
I got home and checked my membership and they were absolutely right. I made the jedis come in the kitchen and I called Blockbuster up right in front of them, and apologized. They were so nice, said I didn't need to apologize but I said I did and I was truly sorry. I think the lady I talked to was a bit stuned!
Well...we now have power, but still no cable. Guess we have to resort to Jack cookies tomorrow night.
You can set the thermostat to go off at night and come back on a hour or so before you get up, just in time to get the entire thermal mass of the floor warmed. That way you're not paying to heat the floor all night. And you can do the same while you're at work. You only pay for the time you really need it.
Oh, and you can also put the heating grids under wood, though it needs to be engineered wood, because it is more stable than solid wood floors.
I LOVE hardwoods, and will have those all over our house whenever we remodel or build for ourselves, except in the bathrooms. we'll put radiant heat under the floor, using the pex tubing and hot water running through it.
I'm not sure if I want a pre-finished wood floor with the urethane finish, or seal it myself with an oil based finish. If we can do it before we move in, I might not mind doing it the old fashioned way. I just wouldn't try to do that if we're trying to live in the house at the same time. I don't have a problem with scratches and things like that. I think that gives a floor real character.
