Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
And thank Howard Hughes!
Thanks for the lesson, and the imagery, and now I must go out and do some chores...
Talk to y'all later :~)
Having waaaaay too much fun marking up this Upgrade Instructions document. Mwahaaha. Red marks.
I wonder if I can get them to send me to Turkey?
You'd hate Turkey ... you have to wear a headscarf ...
On the other hand, you'd get to see some kickin' architecture!
Isn't that just the cutest thing? I saw that at ThinkGeek.com. SirKit liked the missle launcher, but he doesn't plan to EVER be working in a cubicle again, so he said he didn't need one. ;o)
Do they do the headscarf thing there? I thought they were supposed to be fairly Westernized, at least as far as oppressive Islamic countries go.
Talon said I can't go to Iraq even if they wanted to send me ;-)
Well...your grades were good enough to keep you out of Iraq, right?
I had lunch at Panera with some other homeschooling friends. It was great being with just the gals! We're going to do a cookie swap on the 20th. We're waiting for Clare to get home from school, so she can get together with the other homeschooling kids from the old group; they are in their Senior year.
Cool link! I just sent it to my homeschooling groups!
I had Panera for lunch today - had a sales person here for one of the groups, and they brought it. Asiago cheese bread with roast beef, horseradish dressing and stuff. Mmmm...
Also hugh cookies.
I used to be a 'loan arranger' at a Savings and Loan. We, in the Mortgage Dept., loved it when the salesmen for the Mortgage Insurance companies came to town. They always took us out to eat in hopes we would write policies from their companies. We tended to spread the joy around, so that they'd all stay happy and keep coming by to take us out to lunch once in a while. ;o)
"You wouldn't worry so much about what people thought of you if you knew how seldom they do."
Having some camera problems, Rose?
Oh Hail no. If he goes and trumps my fun, he can go accessorize himself. :P
* snort* I love Richard Feynman's idea, "What do you care what other people think?"
Or kill Adobe Captivate ... not sure which one I want dead first ...!
We never put up a tree here, because we don't really do Christmas festivities here... but I'm glad it's here. It's really quite festive :~)
And now we move to the next step, which is recording and saving clips of the camera stream.
I like it! ;-)
For me, the best Christmas trees are all about not taking 'em seriously. I actually like the really hideous giant bulbs and that.
Wonder if I could talk Ben and Anne or you guys or both into doing a drive around to look at lights sometime before Christmas...in a couple of weeks....
Sure, we'll take you, there's a few particularly good neighborhoods.
