Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
There's no such thing as silly questions. Ask away, or freepmail me.
I'm taking pictures but I'm sneakin' on the laptop...to upload them would mean firing up the PC and that would never do.
Maybe tonight I'll get in here and get them uploaded. It looks like it's snowed, but when you walk across it, it doesn't leave a footprint.
Oh, I meant that a good icestorm would have kept the "land sharks" away from ~my~ door.
Turned away two this mornin'.
We've hit the 70s here...
Sam has been alerted that it's bath day.
Nana's in her chair burpin' away. Says it's indigestion. I made this observation to the wife..."If she wouldn't sleep all day, she wouldn't need a sleeping pill at night." The doctor agrees and told her as much.
I'm just sayin' is all.
Heh...I realized how that sounded after I wrote it. She's been in her chair for three hours. Burpin' when awake.
I have this feeling that my next Nanowrimo is going to be loosely based on "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane."
Heh, David got back just in time for winter! He certainly didn't see much of it when he was home for Christmas!
We haven't even gotten your storm yet, and we lost power for a bit last night.
That looks COLD!
I'm going out to assess for any damage. Steve is already checking it out.
I won't even begin to tell you muh first thoughts as I spedread thru that sentence... durned vicodin... I need more coffee...
All of you in the cold places... I hope you're staying warm and cozy. From the sound of things, you've got some nasty stuff coming at you.
The ice storm we had a few years ago up here was lesson enough in how bad it can be. Surely worse than snow.
I'm still biding time at da bachelor pad in Bellevue. Was intending to make a run for the beach today, but have decided that there's no particular reason to go and risk jousting with all the idjits on the road. That Jeep is near magical in the snow and ice, but not everybody seems to operate with plain sense.
So... I think I'll just do some house chores and crack open this big half-gallon of Jack. Not necessarily in that order. :-)
It's *snowing* again up here! I didn't think we were due for any more. Not sure what to make of this...
Take some pictures of your trees g'nad!
You were due for some according to the forecast I saw, from you Northward, but probably not here. There's a front giving the state a glancing blow off the top corner as it goes by.
That's my moniker: II2None59. *g* I'm new to FR, although I've heard all about it over the last few years and occasionally read some of the posts! Glad to finally check it out. Thanks to Alkhin for the nice intro!
I'm catching up on my document shredding....hafta let the shredder cool down for a while.
mmmmmm...clean dog smell...
I think it's the difference between, "wow, that looks cool", to "this thing means business".
Next trip out, he'll find something nasty stinky to roll around in.
Duck tape?
Gotcha, fund raising or passing out literature?
