The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Now is the time when I suddenly realize I don't have time to do all those things I was planning to do before this trip. I barely have time to pack.

Oh well.

Ungh...I'm not really looking forward to all this. It's a really good thing I don't have to travel for work. I'd be discombobulated at all times.

Perfesser Buttprint was fired tonight.

Well he did put his butt on the line, so to speak, so he should have expected it.

OK, here's a movie recommendation! We just watched Little Miss Sunshine. This one ain't for the little kids, but it was terrific! We watched it with Clare and David. David had seen it in the theater, and couldn't wait to see if we liked it.

They start off the typical dysfunctional movie family, then they take a road trip to get the little girl into the "Little Miss Sunshine" pageant. Oh man, we just howled out loud at some parts of it!

Just today and tomorrow. I'm on a red-eye back to Baltimordor tomorrow nite. Will be pulling in to my house around 0300 on Fri. Everything on Friday was sold out! (*grumble*) Oh well.

How far is it to Tulsa? 3-ish hours?

Pictures!

We're supposed to get something of a winter wonderland this weekend.

Coffee, bread, milk, eggs, catfood, toilet paper....

Well...yeah. If I could drive on the same roads as home. ;-)

Actually, I miss real cold...not wet snow as much.

Heard anything about road conditions?

The freeway looks bare and wet in the traffic cams.

To: HairOfTheDog

Well...yeah. There's that.

Really, snow is awesome if you don't have to go anywhere or of there aren't many others on the road. Otherwise, it's a very pretty nuisance.

Which is why someday I want a cabin out of the way of things, and to not *have* to go anywhere when there's snow. ;-)

Fair enough.... Part of my snarky attitude undoubtedly stems from the fact that I don't have to go anywhere. :~)

Hmmm, we might get some of that too. Better make sure we're stocked up on salad. I swear I've eaten more shrimp salads and cucumbers in the last week than in my whole life.
