Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Well, she prolly don't remember too much about the 70s.
I mean...um...er...nevermind...
Laundry! Right, thanks for the reminder - there, started a load of exercise clothes. Amazing how much there is when you hit the gym first thing in the morning and karate before bed. Ugh.
On the plus side, I now have gifts or as-good as have gifts for all my siblings. Yay. Because Christmas is sneaky. Need parental gifts.
Oh yeah - and the company I work for now, we directly profit from Bush's illegitimate war in Iraq. We sold the Iraqis things to make their trains not run into each other any more. There was a story about that in the local paper that unfortunately does not have an online version but was vey cool.
This guy can help her ...
izzat Tom Bombadil?
Hi ho merry doll! I think it might be!
heh, well done.
lol; hmmm, guess it could be.
*snicker*
That was my first thought, too.
Explains a lot, don't it?
Nnoooooooooo!!!
70s? Yeesh... I'm lucky to remember much of the 80s...
Especially 82.
:-)
*sigh*
For my part, I'm realizing I likely won't be going home. I earn vacation hours, but I'm paid hourly...so basically, for a day like Thanksgiving, I have to use eight of my vacation hours. And I thought I had a bunch built up, but in reality, once I take Christmas and New Year's, I'm going to have to go without pay for at least part of the time when I go down for the wedding. I'm thinking no way can I go a whole week for Christmas, on top of plane fare.
It stinks. But there it is. I do expect I'll get to see Jacinta, though, so there's that. She's at a really, really cute age. And knows it, I think. ;-)
Well, when you think about it, it does kind of explain his behavior! ;o)
We were kind of detouring for a time, weren't we. But that's the fun of this thread. Instead of being about nothing, it's a thread about EVERYTHING!
Have I mentioned that I *love* my oogly typewriter?
Feels awful funny typing on this keyboard after an hour or so on the typer.
What's with all the police activity over yonder?
What did you do? :)
Ugh, no fun.... sorry about that. It stinks. I on the other hand will get paid but I have to take negative vacation. And at the very slow amount I accumulate it will be September before I can take a whole week off. We really want to go to Japan this summer, but we also have a friend's wedding to attend and the anime con usually requires a day off work. So I'm not sure yet how we'll swing it. We will, but...
It wouldn't be too bad that Talon gets 50% more vacation than me if his work didn't also give him all of Christmas week off, and two days on either side, whereas mine gives me three days for Christmas and New Years'. And we planned our trips before I got the job. So we're stuck.
