*sigh*

For my part, I'm realizing I likely won't be going home. I earn vacation hours, but I'm paid hourly...so basically, for a day like Thanksgiving, I have to use eight of my vacation hours. And I thought I had a bunch built up, but in reality, once I take Christmas and New Year's, I'm going to have to go without pay for at least part of the time when I go down for the wedding. I'm thinking no way can I go a whole week for Christmas, on top of plane fare.

It stinks. But there it is. I do expect I'll get to see Jacinta, though, so there's that. She's at a really, really cute age. And knows it, I think. ;-)

Ugh, no fun.... sorry about that. It stinks. I on the other hand will get paid but I have to take negative vacation. And at the very slow amount I accumulate it will be September before I can take a whole week off. We really want to go to Japan this summer, but we also have a friend's wedding to attend and the anime con usually requires a day off work. So I'm not sure yet how we'll swing it. We will, but...

It wouldn't be too bad that Talon gets 50% more vacation than me if his work didn't also give him all of Christmas week off, and two days on either side, whereas mine gives me three days for Christmas and New Years'. And we planned our trips before I got the job. So we're stuck.
