The Prayer Room: Praying for America, FR, and all who need it
Various | 11/8/06 | Knitting a Conundrum

Posted on 11/09/2006 6:49:58 PM PST by Knitting A Conundrum

Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

Psalm 127:1
>

At this time, when feelings run high, the world seems crazy, and anger seems to be the one thing the peoples of the world have in common, I invite you, my fellow FReepers, to join me in prayers and meditation for guidance, God's help and for our fellow man, for America, our troops,  and all our own needs.

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

William Bradbury

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.

Psalm 46: 1-3

Unto our God and King we Lift our Thanksgiving and Praise. Loving and Merciful are You, Gracious Lord, to Raise Up this Assembly of Your Children. Thank You for the Fragrance of Heaven that Refreshes us, for the Lovely Spirit of our Blessed, Living God.

I will Proclaim the Greatness of Lord.
How Glorious He is!
He is the Rock. His Work is Perfect.
Everything He Does is Just and Fair. (Deut.32:3,4)

There is None Like the God of Jerusalem;
He Descends from the Heavens
In Majestic Splendor to Help you.
The Eternal God is your Refuge,
And Underneath are the Everlasting Arms.
(Deut.33:26,27) (TLB)

Safeguard my Brothers and Sisters, Dear Lord, and Keep them in Thy Ever-Sustaining Grace. Surround them with Your Lovingkindness, as we Praise You in Jesus' Name, amen.

Thank you! Ummm, your family is on my special prayer list for today - how is your husband now? Was it on the invisible Middle East thread where I saw your post last night or this morning? Didn't see it here just now. Much Love and many of these for y'all:

Hey pinz - thank you for your sweet greeting the other night on the invisible ME live thread. By the time I saw it and wanted to reply, the thread had disappeared again, so I waited on the Lord to reveal you to me again.

And here you are! Happy Thanksgiving early!

He did have a scary time for a few hours, but found out it was nothing serious... but we are stressed out with moving, and that was at the root of it, I believe.

Thank you bunches! Hope you are doing well too...you are on my special list as well.

Moving is *definitely* at the root of it, I know whereof I speak. Please pace yourselves, if you can. I *tried,* but was not successful and am still suffering the consequences long after, so please take care of all y'all's selves!

I'm OK these days, just overly tired, for no reason at all - and need some kind of energy prayer to get things done the next few days! Feel like melting into a puddle every time I walk anywhere.

Joshua 24:15 ~

"And if it seem evil unto you to serve Jehovah, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah."

Isa 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died...

Holy Lord, who lives in light unapproachable, what thrill comes when we read these words,

Isa 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple.

Be exalted Oh God, above the heavens, and thy glory be over all the earth. Thrill your children with your Glory and your Presence today. Things of earth do grow strangely dim in the Light of your Glory and Grace..........

.................

Psa 105:37 Then he brought out Israel with silver and gold, and there was none among his tribes who stumbled.
Psa 105:38 Egypt was glad when they departed, for dread of them had fallen upon it.
Psa 105:39 He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light by night.

I pray that you lead us today, Father, and we will walk in your Blessings and be mindful of your faithful Love.

Psa 105:41 He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed through the desert like a river.
Psa 105:42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham, his servant.
Psa 105:43 So he brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with singing.

Bring us out today to do the work you set before us. Help us to not stumble or fear. Show us the Water in the desert.

Isa 55:12 "For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Amen

He does provide! :-)

Happy Thanksgiving to you, Rte66. I know will find the energy to do what you *need* to do, even if it's not all that you *want* to do.

Morning prayer bump

Lord,
You are our healer
and our hope,
you ask us to bear our cross,
then help us struggle beneath its weight.

You ask us to be merciful,
and, if we are open to you,
fill our hearts with mercy.

You ask us to be the one
others can practice their mercy on,
and if we are open,
you fill us with your patience
and strength
and love
to lay there, ill,
in need of mercy.

Today, O Lord,
be with all those who are ill,
with pain of body,
with sorrow of mind,
with loss,
bereavement,
aching in their hearts,
loss.

Help all of us
who call you Lord
to answer that call
to be your hands,
to be the tool of your mercy,
to be the lips to say your words
to those in pain,
to be the good Samaritans,
to bind the wounds.

Hold us all in your hands, O Lord,
and at the end,
bring us safely home to be with you.

Amen.

Meditation on the world's sin and pain and Jesus' death on the cross

Lord,
the pain wraps around us,
throbbing,
throbbing,
like the rhythm
of the hammer fall
piercing,
deeper,
lodging in the wood.

The pain,
oh the pain,
a woman crying out
as her loved one is slain,
a child shocked
at the blood
falling from a beheaded parent,
the armwrenching agony
as they hauled you,
nailed to the crossbeam
up up to the drop,
white pain electric
through your arms
as the beam found the mortise,
like the pain of the tortured
screaming beneath their captor's hands,
screaming as the electricity
screams through their bodies,
throbbing,
screaming,
the pain of being stripped
of everything but the paim
and the stares
as they gambled,
waiting for the blood to fall
for the breath to end
like guards at a starvation ward
waiting for thirst to end his praying,
like nurses piling blankets high
in the name of mercy killing,
the pain,
throbbing,
with each beat of your heart,
each hard sought breath,
like the pain of the deserted,
lost in the wilderness,
aching,
bereft,
afraid of the hand of man,
victim of terror,
victim of rape,
victim of starvation,
scurrying by night
seeing her child die,
like your mother,
watching each last breath,
dying inside
watching your death.

O Lord,
the pain,
you wrapped yourself around it,
accepted it,
tasted it,
drank it
down to the bitter dregs,
and bore all the burden
of man's evil,
of man's inhumanity
down to the pit of death,
walking each step with us,
walking each step along with us,
and accepting that last, lone breath,
shattered the chain.

Lord, in our grief,
hold us,
and tell us
as we unite with you,
as we live for you
you live for us,
and when the pain,
the last ache,
the last throb
is over and done,
you will take us
to where
pain is banished.

Amen.

KAC
