The Prayer Room: Praying for America, FR, and all who need it
Various | 11/8/06 | Knitting a Conundrum

Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

Psalm 127:1
>

At this time, when feelings run high, the world seems crazy, and anger seems to be the one thing the peoples of the world have in common, I invite you, my fellow FReepers, to join me in prayers and meditation for guidance, God's help and for our fellow man, for America, our troops,  and all our own needs.

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

William Bradbury

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.

Psalm 46: 1-3

One of our freepers has a mom who needs nursing care and he is having trouble with her being willing to get it. Pray that the steps he has to take to make sure she is getting the help she needs goes through, and she will be willing to be helped as well, and whatever happens works the way the Lord wishes it.

My son is a Marine. He was supposed to leave for Iraq last week but it got pushed back 30 days. His wife is pregnant and last week she was rushed to the ER and diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. She is already a Hi Risk Pregnancy and this has my son over the top. She wanted to stay home when he leaves ( they also have a 2 year old) but now she will go stay with her mom.
We are all so worried about her and then all the trouble over in Iraq right now makes it worse. On top of that my mother has to go in for surgery in 2 weeks and I try to keep her away from the news about Iraq. She has 90% blockage in her leg and is living on pain pills to get through the day. Her doc put her on Xanax because of the stress worrying about my son.

We need to keep them in our prayers!

Lord Jesus, think on me
And purge away my sin;
From earthborn passions set me free
And make me pure within.

Lord Jesus, think on me,
With many a care oppressed;
Let me Thy loving servant be
And taste Thy promised rest.

Lord Jesus, think on me
Amid the battle’s strife;
In all my pain and misery
Be Thou my Health and Life.

Lord Jesus, think on me
Nor let me go astray;
Through darkness and perplexity
Point Thou the heavenly way.

Lord Jesus, think on me
When floods the tempest high;
When on doth rush the enemy,
O Savior, be Thou nigh!

Lord Jesus, think on me
That, when the flood is past,
I may th’eternal brightness see
And share Thy joy at last.

Lord Jesus, think on me
That I may sing above
To Father, Spirit, and to Thee
The strains of praise and love.
--Synesius of Cyrene, circa 430
...............

Lord, Thou wilt hear me when I pray,
I am forever Thine;
I fear before Thee all the day,
Nor would I dare to sin.

And while I rest my weary head,
From cares and business free,
’Tis sweet conversing on my bed,
With my own heart and Thee.

I pay this evening sacrifice:
And when my work is done,
Great God, my faith and hope relies
Upon Thy grace alone.

Thus, with my thoughts composed to peace,
I’ll give mine eyes to sleep;
Thy hand in safety keeps my days,
And will my slumbers keep.
-- Isaac Watts, The Psalms of David, 1719.

Help me Lord, for I am weak,
Teach me to walk in your ways
Even when you come to me some days
In shapes I would not rather seek.

Help me Lord, for my love is poor,
Let me look into those eyes,
Dressed in some distressing guise,
And remember how you open the door.

Help me Lord, not to shrink
when you come to me unclean
or in the form of smart-mouthed teen
Let me be the helping link.

Help me Lord, to love like you
All those irritating ones who seem
There to make me want to scream,
May my help to them renew.

When hurtful words long to be said
Or I long to turn away,
Let me remember that sad day,
When you gave all and hung there dead.

Your love embraced me with all my sin,
In loving thanks, teach me to be
Love's channel to all those that I see,
Help me to let you enter in.

Teach me the little ways of love,
The simple word, the needed smile,
The oil that makes our lives worthwhile,
And leads the soul to hope above.

Make me a channel of your peace,
And say the word that you would say,
And touch their lives in just that way
Until my life on earth shall cease.

Thank you for the Blessings I Receive as I Always Read and Catch Up on this Thread! Glory to God for His Glory that is Manifest Here!

"In Jerusalem, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies
Will spread a wonderful feast
For all the people of the world.
It will be a delicious banquet
With clear, well-aged wine and choice meat.
There he will remove the cloud of gloom,
The shadow of death that hangs over the earth.
He will swallow up death forever!
The Sovereign Lord will wipe away all tears.
He will remove forever all insults and mockery
Against his land and people.
The Lord has spoken!" (Is.25:6-8)

We Await with Great Anticipation those Glorious Days, our Sovereign King. Thy Kingdom Come, our Loving and Caring Lord. We Pray for Thy Salvation to Blanket the Earth; Enfold Many in Thy Embrace of Grace. Thank You, Papa-Father, for Your Compassionate Hand Over our Land. In this Time of Darkness, may we Shine Forth with the Brightness of Christ, and Draw Many into Your Kingdom of Peace. Empower us to Hold Fast to Thy Name, Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Savior, we Pray for Thy Protection to be Over the Little Frozen Embryos, Here and throughout the World, that Evil men will not Destroy them. Guard these Little Ones, O Powerful and Sovereign God Almighty.

Grant us Revival, O Father our King, and Grant Israel Salvation and Peace. Bless Thy Children who Come Here to Pray, as we Glorify Thy Name, amen.

Rth 2:19 And her mother-in-law said to her, "Where did you glean today? And where have you worked? Blessed be the man who took notice of you." So she told her mother-in-law with whom she had worked and said, "The man's name with whom I worked today is Boaz."
Rth 2:20 And Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, "May he be blessed by the LORD, whose kindness has not forsaken the living or the dead!" Naomi also said to her, "The man is a close relative of ours, one of our redeemers."
Rth 2:21 And Ruth the Moabite said, "Besides, he said to me, 'You shall keep close by my young men until they have finished all my harvest.'"
Rth 2:22 And Naomi said to Ruth, her daughter-in-law, "It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his young women, lest in another field you be assaulted."
Rth 2:23 So she kept close to the young women of Boaz, gleaning until the end of the barley and wheat harvests. And she lived with her mother-in-law.
.....
Job 19:25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
.........
Rev 1:7 Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.

Oh Father, thank you for the beautiful picture of your care for us in the Book of Ruth.
You bring us into your household and extend your protection, provision and defense until such time as these harvests of men's souls are concluded.
Then the Bride of Christ will be revealed, dressed in linen, clean and white, even the Righteousness of Him who loved us.

http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/o/b/obrideoc.htm

O Bride of Christ, rejoice!
Exultant raise thy voice
To hail the day of glory,
Foretold in sacred story.

Refrain

Hosanna, praise and glory,
Our King, we bow before Thee.

Let shouts of gladness rise
Triumphant to the skies.
Here comes the King most glorious
To reign o’er all victorious

Refrain

He wears no kingly crown
Yet as a king He’s known;
Though not arrayed in splendor,
He still makes death surrender.

Refrain

The weak and timid find
How meek He is and kind;
To them He gives a treasure
Of bliss beyond all measure.

Refrain

Thy heart now open wide,
Bid Christ with thee abide;
He graciously will hear thee,
And be forever near thee.

Refrain

Then go thy Lord to meet;
Strew palm leaves at His feet;
Thy garments spread before Him
And honor and adore Him.

Refrain

E’en babes with one accord
With thee shall praise the Lord,
And every gentile nation
Respond with exultation.

Joh 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
........
1Ti 3:16 Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.
..........
2Pe 1:16 For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

Father, I ask to see Jesus more clearly today.
Pour out your Spirit of Truth who testifies of Jesus so that I may hear and perceive Him in His Majesty and Beauty.
I thank you for your Word which has laid hold of me, and calls me to behold the "...glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. "
Let this Holy Vision cleanse me today and help me walk uprightly before you.
There is no sweeter occupation that this.

I pray for those that are sick among us that you would comfort, heal and provide for them. I ask for your wonderful peace to attend them. Let them have full assurance of your Love for them.
I pray for those in material need that you would Glorify yourself and open the windows of heaven for them and that they would be rejoicing in your LovingKindness.
I ask that you would defend the widow and orphan and all those who have no one to help.
Be our shield and exceeding Great Reward.
Full of Grace and Truth.

http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/e/r/ereblueh.htm

Ere the blue heav’ns were stretched abroad,
From everlasting was the Word:
With God He was; the Word was God,
And must divinely be adored.

By His own power were all things made;
By Him supported all things stand;
He is the whole creation’s Head,
And angels fly at His command.

Ere sin was born, or Satan fell,
He led the host of morning stars:
Thy generation who can tell,
Or count the numbers of Thy years?

But lo! He leaves those heav’nly forms,
The Word descends and dwells in clay,
That He may hold converse with worms,
Dressed in such feeble flesh as they.

Mortals with joy beheld His face,
Th’ eternal Father’s only Son;
How full of truth! how full of grace!
When through His eyes the Godhead shone.

Archangels leave their high abode
To learn new mysteries here, and tell
The loves of our descending God,
The glories of Immanuel.
--Isaac Watts

How loud the pain and sorrow rises,
A sad crescendo reaching high,
Up to heaven, that growing cry,
Ratcheting up with each new crisis,
Against the screaming hurricane,
I pray in a voice, sad and plain:
Have mercy on us, O Lord!

Today, O Lord, if you hear my voice
against the screech of "Why o Why?"
"I hate you!", "Why don't you just die?"
And vengeance cries that now rejoice,
I pray in a voice, sad and plain
Against this endless wall of pain:
Have mercy on us, O Lord!

The voice of the orphan as he cries,
The parent who's lost his only child,
Those in war zones, hot and wild,
The unwanted, breathing their unseen sighs,
I pray in a voice, sad and plain,
That longs to heal and make things sane -
Have mercy on us, O Lord!

The darkness seems so dark today,
With anger and hate and willful pride
Death means nothing on this dark ride,
The truth forgotten, love turns to clay.
Open our parched hearts, let in the rain!
I pray in a voice, sad and plain.
Have mercy on us, Lord.

Open my hearts to your love's way
That sees with love the hurting one,
That sees the work that needs to be done,
That turns man's dark into Heaven's day.
I pray in a voice sad and plain,
Use me to stop the hurricane,
Teach me to love, O Lord.
