Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
Psalm 127:1>
At this time, when feelings run high, the world seems crazy, and anger seems to be the one thing the peoples of the world have in common, I invite you, my fellow FReepers, to join me in prayers and meditation for guidance, God's help and for our fellow man, for America, our troops, and all our own needs.
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Fathers throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempters snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
William Bradbury
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
Psalm 46: 1-3
Thank you and same to you! What date is your grandkids' trip home set for? I've still got a candle going:
http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/message.cfm?l=eng&cid=2262262
Grandson leaving Senegal midnight, our time. Due at Kennedy tomorrow 7 a.m.
Granddaughter coming back on January 20.
Thanks for the candle!
Mar 6:30 The apostles returned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught.
Mar 6:31 And he said to them, "Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while." For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.
Mar 6:32 And they went away in the boat to a desolate place by themselves.
Come ye yourselves apart and rest awhile;
Weary, I know it, of the press and throng,
Wipe from your brow the sweat and dust of toil,
And in My quiet strength again be strong.
Come ye aside from all the world holds dear,
For converse which the world has never known,
Alone with Me and with My Father here,
With Me and with My Father not alone.
Come, tell Me all that ye have said and done,
Your victories and failures, hopes and fears.
I know how hardly souls are wooed and won:
My choicest wreaths are always wet with tears.
Come ye and rest: the journey is too great,
And ye will faint beside the way and sink:
The Bread of Life is here for you to eat,
And here for you the Wine of Love to drink.
Then, fresh from converse with your Lord, return
And work till daylight softens into evn;
The brief hours are not lost in which ye learn
More of your Master and His rest in Heavn.

You're so welcome and thanks for the update, which I put on the candle prayer:

Awesome truth!
No matter what it is we give away - time, talent, treasure - to God directly or to a needy neighbor in obedience to Love's Desire, by the very act of giving it we receive increase! On the other hand, whatever we seek to keep, to hoard or to store up rots, rusts, is devoured and lost.
"He rebukes the Devourer for our sakes!" ~Malachi 3:11
We all get the same 24-hour allotment daily, but some of us get it in "full measure, pressed down and overflowing!" Awesome truth!
I've heard a parable of this truth, a demonstration of it: Our day is a glass jar. We have items to fit into the day that are of various importance. The big important things are rocks. Those of lesser importance are like sand. The rest is all like water. If we put the rocks in first, then sprinkle in the sand, then add the water, it all fits. But if we start with sand or water, the bigger items, of real importance, won't find room.
Oh, let us give the firstfruits to God, even of our days! And trust that in this good first-giving He will provide of His Storehouse sufficiency for all the rest! Amen!
Amen.
Hab 2:20 But the LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him."
........
Zec 2:13 Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD, for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.
Oh LORD of all,
Let all your creation and everything in it acknowledge and adore you.
You have stirred yourself up for the day of action.
You will come and defend your people.
You will bring judgement to the earth and righteousness will again rest upon this earth.
Father I ask that your Kingdom would come and your Will would be done in my heart and in my family and in my home as it is in heaven.
I ask that your will be done in the Church and that you would be glorified.
Let all honorable things be done in the Name of him who loved us.

Let all mortal flesh keep silence,
And with fear and trembling stand;
Ponder nothing earthly minded,
For with blessing in His hand,
Christ our God to earth descendeth,
Our full homage to demand.
King of kings, yet born of Mary,
As of old on earth He stood,
Lord of lords, in human vesture,
In the body and the blood;
He will give to all the faithful
His own self for heavenly food.
Rank on rank the host of heaven
Spreads its vanguard on the way,
As the Light of light descendeth
From the realms of endless day,
That the powers of hell may vanish
As the darkness clears away.
At His feet the six wingèd seraph,
Cherubim with sleepless eye,
Veil their faces to the presence,
As with ceaseless voice they cry:
Alleluia, Alleluia
Alleluia, Lord Most High!

O Lord, open our ears that we might hear
Your soft-whispered word within our ear,
The touch of your truth - a light so clear
That it burns away the night.
Now while today is in our hands,
This gift from you even now demands
Our openness to Your truth which stands
In everlasting light.
Each minute, a precious gift from You,
So much is needed, so much to do
Each moment a chance to begin anew
To work through Your might.
Salt and light you ask us to be -
Guide us to see as you would see,
Teach us to love as deep and free
As Heaven's depth and height.
Amen. I am refreshed by this beauty. Thank you.

And one more:
O Lord, O Spirit who breathed upon the deep at the start of all,
O Breath of Life, although we pretend not to hear your call,
Still Your voice echos in and out of the winds of our lives, surrounding us
Though we turn our back to its gentle singing, we find it stinging us
with the intensity of Yourr truth, in dark and light - soothing us
with the beauty of your love beyond our hate, and greed and fall.
Help us to realize that without you, we stand there, naked, weak, small.
O Lord, let your voice enter into our hearts, now.
let it enter into the dark murk of our minds now,
let it pierce through the daylight, brighter than sun,
and bloom in our midnight, making our midnight shadows run.
May the fire of Your love soften us O Lord,
Like an all surround wind, enwrap us, O Lord
in the reality of your love, blowing away all the dust
of hate and anger and pain and lust,
that cloaks us like a sin-stained pall.
Transform us!
Hide us in your loving heart from the curse of the fall,
Else we will perish.

Oh this is the prayer of my heart this new year. Again... THANK YOU Knitting.
Prayer bump
"Don't be afraid, I've redeemed you.
I've called your name. You're mine.
When you're in over your head,
I'll be there with you.
When you're in rough waters,
You will not drown.
When you're between a rock and a hard place,
It won't be a dead end
Because I am God, your personal God,
The Holy of Israel, your Savior.
I paid a huge price for you:
All of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in!
That's how much you mean to me!
That's how much I love you!
I'd sell off the whole world to get you back,
Trade the creation just for you. (Is.43:1-4)
Thank You for Your Amazing Love for us, our Caring Savior. Your Word Sustains us through the Fiery Trials of this Life. I am God, your Holy One, Creator of Israel, your King. (Is.43:15) You are Strong, Papa-Father, and we Fall into Your Loving Arms. Gracious God, we Love You, Praise You, Honor You, and Adore You. Through our Jesus' Grace we Pray, amen.
The Amazing Grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the Extravagant Love of God, the Intimate Friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with All of you. (2Cor.13:14)
Truly, the Word of God contains the greatest impetus to trust, hope, faith, endurance, love.
Thank You, Father, that Your Life comes to us through Your Son, Your Spirit, Your Word, Light that enlightens! Thank You that You Indeed not only give us life, You are our life, and when You live within us Your Life springs forth unto others and all together we rejoice in Thee! O Thou! Blessed forever! Our blessing, our abundance, our great joy! Thank You in Jesus.
