O Lord, open our ears that we might hear
Your soft-whispered word within our ear,
The touch of your truth - a light so clear
That it burns away the night.

Now while today is in our hands,
This gift from you even now demands
Our openness to Your truth which stands
In everlasting light.

Each minute, a precious gift from You,
So much is needed, so much to do
Each moment a chance to begin anew
To work through Your might.

Salt and light you ask us to be -
Guide us to see as you would see,
Teach us to love as deep and free
As Heaven's depth and height.
