Mar 6:30 The apostles returned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught.
Mar 6:31 And he said to them, "Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while." For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.
Mar 6:32 And they went away in the boat to a desolate place by themselves.
Come ye yourselves apart and rest awhile;
Weary, I know it, of the press and throng,
Wipe from your brow the sweat and dust of toil,
And in My quiet strength again be strong.
Come ye aside from all the world holds dear,
For converse which the world has never known,
Alone with Me and with My Father here,
With Me and with My Father not alone.
Come, tell Me all that ye have said and done,
Your victories and failures, hopes and fears.
I know how hardly souls are wooed and won:
My choicest wreaths are always wet with tears.
Come ye and rest: the journey is too great,
And ye will faint beside the way and sink:
The Bread of Life is here for you to eat,
And here for you the Wine of Love to drink.
Then, fresh from converse with your Lord, return
And work till daylight softens into evn;
The brief hours are not lost in which ye learn
More of your Master and His rest in Heavn.

How soothing! Thank you.

Awesome truth!
No matter what it is we give away - time, talent, treasure - to God directly or to a needy neighbor in obedience to Love's Desire, by the very act of giving it we receive increase! On the other hand, whatever we seek to keep, to hoard or to store up rots, rusts, is devoured and lost.
"He rebukes the Devourer for our sakes!" ~Malachi 3:11
We all get the same 24-hour allotment daily, but some of us get it in "full measure, pressed down and overflowing!" Awesome truth!
I've heard a parable of this truth, a demonstration of it: Our day is a glass jar. We have items to fit into the day that are of various importance. The big important things are rocks. Those of lesser importance are like sand. The rest is all like water. If we put the rocks in first, then sprinkle in the sand, then add the water, it all fits. But if we start with sand or water, the bigger items, of real importance, won't find room.
Oh, let us give the firstfruits to God, even of our days! And trust that in this good first-giving He will provide of His Storehouse sufficiency for all the rest! Amen!
