It was a good move by the Big East to schedule these Thursday night games on ESPN.
How sad is it that the upset would be FSU over Wake and not the other way around.
(Enter various FReeper gators to say how great that is)
Louisville vs. Rutgers is a huge game. Who'd have thunk it.
I like the 'Ville, but of course my saying so probably curses them. I want to see them in the National Championship, where they'd be creamed by Ohio State. But just to get there for them would be legendary.
Damn good to see something besides politiacl threads.
Anywho, odd that all the games of the big three Florida teams are upset specials--and they should be.
Actually, I think FSU will lose outright by a field goal.
Florida (my team, full disclosure) *might* lose to the ol' Ball Coach. Prediction: One point win for UF.
And Miami? They could easily go in the tank. Preiction = a 6 point win.
Thanks MFO!!
Lots of good SEC action this week...frankly I don't think either Tennessee or USC will win their games, even though they're arguably two of the closest SEC matchups all year (despite the large disparity in ranking between UF and USC). There'll be a third SEC nail-biter on Saturday (at least for me), but sadly two unranked teams equals no TV coverage - thank goodness for satellite radio.
Can I be on the NCAAF ping list, please? Wish I'd seen it earlier in the season.
THANK YOU MIKE!!!! Much better! ;)
So, if Rutgers beats Louisville tonight, how far might they rise in the polls?
Well, I trully hope I am wrong but I actually have to go against my Huskers here. We dont do too terribly great against dual threat QB's and A&M has a good one. If Nebraska wins it will be alot closer than 24-14.
Let's see, we can't watch our games on TV, get embarrassed against just about everyone in the WAC, and byU wins the league. Talk about your worst case scenario for a conference.
Thanks for the ping! Just what I need! Cannot take one more word about politics....
OK State needs one more win in order to go bowling!
GO POKES!!
Butkis Finalists announced:
James Laurinaitis - Ohio St.
Paul Posluszny - Penn St.
Patrick Willis - Ole Miss
Good to see Willis make it, Ole Miss doesn't get much publicity but he's a great player and well deserving.
I'm going for Oregon over USC, or at least it will be razor close. They not ready for prime time yet.
LSU 38 Alabama 10
LSU is playing for postseason position now. 'Bama is playing for Dave Shula's job after laying an egg against Ole Miss and they always give the Tigers fits in Baton Rouge. If the Tide tanks this one, Shula could well be out the door after the Auburn game. The problem for 'Bama is they don't match up well with LSU, and the talent factor is hard to overcome.
Double header for me this weekend: Saturday in LA at the SC homecoming game vs Oregon, then Sunday in Oakland at the "Black Hole" to see some Shanahan "Spank You Very Much" on the Al Davis Raiders.
Here's hoping the new and improved Trojans can serve up some Duck soup...
It's amazing to think about Iowa. Here's a team that was on september 30th was ranked 11 or 12 or so and was being picked by alot of people to beat #1 ranked Ohio State. Since then they've lost to Indiana and Northwestern and may get a th lost to Wisconsin.
I'm actually kinda nervous about the Northwestern game...that team has had a tough year and it would be an amazing story if they beat Ohio State.
I said at the beginning of the season that Arizona would surprise some one during the season with a big upset. I was hoping it would be this one, as it is homecoming for them. But maybe I will have to let the Washington State game be the upset I was looking for.
But I still hope the Wildcats win this one!
That was probably the most exciting sporting event I've ever been to.
Fifteen years, we've had season tickets and sat through 0-11 or 1-10 or 2-10, etc, etc etc.
That rocked. Our defense was incredible in the second half. And Teel is just a sophomore, still learning the game. He's getting better every week.
This 9-0 season has made recruiting explode. Big time college football has hit the NYC media market and it'll be around for a while. The place was a madhouse from four hours before the game till three hours after.
You guys give the Defending National Champ Texas Longhorns about as much credit as ESPN and all those damn computers. They're likely to be #3 in the AP.
