This may be my last time on FR for a while. Maybe when I am ready I will come back. Feel free to post with comments. Thanks and God bless.

Nancy Pelosi just told Brit Hume that the war in Iraq is "not a war to be won but a situation to be solved."

Is this an opus? An opus is supposed to be more melodramatic.

Since the media will cover for the democrats , I am not so sure they will lose power again so easily. Nothing will be their fault you see.

Good luck, and see you when you come back!

Don't despair. It's just an election and politics as usual. It was more fun to be on the "winning" side, but now it's our turn to feel a little pain. And in the overall scheme of things, has it really effective your life? On a personal level? In my home, our spirits are still intact but our minds are a little slow to catch up, that's all. Get some rest and some quiet time. We're all in His hands.

Well, enjoy your time off. I live in Massachusetts; if there ever was a blue state, this is it... At least we, as conservatives, still have some voice in Washington; and the Dems don't own my soul (the Republicans don't either, but I consider the Dems more of a threat to it).

The Dems didn't give up, they were sore losers, and they used this to invigorate themselves, sometimes to the point of insanity. Many do not have a faith, and what faith they do have is "private" and without impact on their real lives. Some of them live for political power, so now they are happy. I don't want to live like that; without that, they have nothing.

That's not true for me. God bless.

Just set back and read for a week or so, you don't have to post to stay in the family.

Its still the best source of up to the minuet news you can get.

Steve,

Buck up.

The battle is not lost, the enemy is identified and isolated.

Some Republicans lost, conservatism did not.

See you on the forum.

How rude of me. I read your vanity but then saw that blast from the Hee Haw past and ended up on memory lane.

I think alot of us are feeling the way you are, Big Steve, but we can't motor on if we park the car in the garage. ;) Have a peaceful timeout, Big Steve.

As pessimistic as FR has been the last 24 hours, it feels like we're all preparing to commit mass suicide.

Did anyone here really believe that the GOP would hold Congress forever? Anyone who did needs their head examined. The political pendulum swings both ways and last night it went the other direction.

My plans for the evening

Freep a while
Ead a brownie with ice cream
Finish reading Canticle of Lebowitz
Talk to my family before bedtime
Freep some more

The political thing does get a bit overwhelming. Bottom line, conservatives do better out of power. We have two years to find us a President
