The events of yesterday may be a blessing in disguise for those of us who react with absolute horror to the very thought of a Democrat President in 2008.
Most likely the Democrat nominee is going to be Hillary, and like her husband before her, the only way she could win the Presidency is if there were a conservative stalking horse like Ross Perot to split the conservative vote.
We all know what an egomaniac John McCain is. If he does not get the nomination in 2008, there is no doubt in my mind that he will strike a secret deal with the Clintons and run a third-party candidacy, which will deliver the Presidency to Bill/Hill LLC.
I have resigned myself to McCain as the 2008 nominee.
It is either that, or resign myself to another 8 years of the Clintons.
I wasn't aware that you could lose the presidential election in the midterms.
I'm not even convinced Hillary Clinton is going to run for president. I know that puts me in the minority here.
Theres a difference????
All you have to do is look at the players; it's like a rerun from 1992 to 2000.
And to a person, they are all HER people, not his.
They don't call them "The Clinton Government In Waiting" for nothing.
"What are McCain's positions on the War in Iraq on terrorism, abortion, tax increases and government spending?"
1) WOT: he's a hawk, but he opposes aggressive interrogation measures of terrorists.
2) Abortion: Pro-Life
3) Federal Spending: He's a member of the Concord Coalition run by former Repub Senator Warren Rudman. Concord's members are not supply siders, they argue for strict controls on federal spending, especially the need to address entitlement programs before it's too late.
4) Tax Increases: I don't know the answer to that one, but I can't seem to remember him ever supporting raising taxes. I think he voted against Bush's tax cuts in early 2001, but he voted for the additional tax cuts after 9/11. I know he really detests wasteful government spending.
How about Sonny Perdue in 08'?
No advocate of free speech can support John McCain.
I think you're right. But only because the Clintons are moving RIGHTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT in order to be elected again. Then they'll shift left after the election.
yes, there is a huge difference between McCain and the Clintons, or Rudy and the Clintons.
It is either that, or resign myself to another 8 years of the Clintons.
Would you like your "Kool Aid" on the rocks or straight up?
If its between McPain and Hitlery, I'll stay home and after yesterday, I don't care if we are at war or not--as many stupid Americans (and quite a few cut and run Republicans as well) don't seem to care either!!!!
The DBM fawns over McCain now and that can be very seductive, but just wait until or if he's the nominee. You will see the DBM approach to McCain change faster than Linda Blair's head spun around.
R.I.P.
"How about Sonny Perdue in 08"
I live in Georgia and I can say I'd rather it be McCain. Perdue is a democrat, a democrat who stopped being a democrat when it became no longer cool to be so in Georgia (Perdue was a democrat until 1998.) He's got ethics problems, his shady land deals that would be non-stop talk in 2008 and not to mention the liberal things he has done while governor. No thanks.
What? Me Worry?
Mccain would never get passed the base.
that and he carries just too much baggage that can be
trotted out against him anytime.
Sorry, I would tear up my voters registration before I would vote for McCain.
"Mr. President, it is not only possible, it is essential. That is the whole idea of this machine, you know. Deterrence is the art of producing in the mind of the enemy... the FEAR to attack. And so, because of the automated and irrevocable decision-making process which rules out human meddling, John McCain is terrifying and simple to understand... and completely credible and convincing."
You may be right....the LSM would have the best of both worlds. McCain't vs. Hellary. If the beast lost they would still have their 2nd choice and the conservatives get screwed. McCain't has been no real friend to christians and a backstabber to conservatives and that sits well with the leftist media.
