9th Circuit Court Rules Republican's Vote Tues and Democrats Vote on Wed.
It's a joke! | 11/6/2006

AP - Newswisre - 11/6/2006 - 11:33AM

Due to unusually high number of voters expected at polls tomorrow, the Democrats filed a law suit to get voting extending to two days. The Ninth Circuit Court of appeals has ruled that registered Republicans are to vote on Tuesday, November 7th and registered Democrats are to vote on November 8th. Independents, other non-mainstream parties and unaffiliated voters can vote on either day.

If a Democrat tries to vote on Tuesday the voter will be instructed to come back on Wednesday. If a Republican tries to vote on Wednesday, the voter will not be allowed to vote. Ken Mehlman, Chairman of the Republican National Committee said he plans to appeal this to the supreme court as it has the effect of giving the Democrats two days to vote and it allows exit polling to predict how many democrats are needed to vote the following day to win.

Howard Dean, praised the 9th Circuit's ruling saying, "The people's voices will be heard this election." Larry Sabato of the University of Virginia Center for Politics said he doesn't expect the Supreme Court to intervene as the the Republican's would have to show irreparable harm if the election is extended to two days. "Harm can't be shown until after the election so the ruling will most likely stand. If the Supreme Court doesn't intervene by midnight tonight the ruling will stand."

Be sure to send this to all you liberal friends :-)

Please don't. It will be cited as evidence of a conspiracy by Republicans to suppress the Democrat's vote.

Yes, it's a joke. But, don't expect the losers to have a sense of humor.

So, why do the democrats get to vote on Wednesday? I think this is a very bad idea. IF you are going to allow a two day vote then make it fair by allowing anyone to vote on either day. Besides that, we already have early voting, which effectually lengthens the amount of time allotted to vote for everyone.
