See for example this thread first.

An evangelist named Ted Haggard
accused by a gay man who swaggered
"I did him. And, yeth,
I sold him some meth"
Either way, the full truth is a laggard...

Mark Twain once said "A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes."

I don't know what to say, since this sounds like a Democrat hit piece in time to discourage evangelicals; kind of like the late accusations about the Gov. of Nevada assaulting a woman in a parking garage, which so far have *NOT* been backed up by surveillance tapes.

I'll become convinced the guy is guilty when he makes a canned speech which begins, "I did not have sex with that...[err, man]"

Speaking of which, will Susan Estrich get on all the talk shows and start arguing that "It's just about sex"?

And will the libertarians back this guy for flaunting the oppressive puritanical constraints thrown on society by big brother?

And will Massachusetts liberals hook up (har!) with Mormons from Utah in seeking to have them join Haggard, his wife, and the accuser in bisexual, polygamist, marriage? (I bet Ruth Bader Ginsburg would volunteer to perform the civil ceremony...)

Cheers!
