Yes, it's legal. See US Constitution, 1st Amendment.
He may have saved you from spending your later years in a plastic tent with a hole in your throat. Is that legal?
What kind a surgery did you have?
What is it you think the anesthesiologist did to you? Hypnosis? Aversion therapy? It is possible that the anesthesia has an effect or reaction with cigarette smoke that lingers for awhile and that is causing your reactions.
Of course it's legal. Doctors are supposed to give good advice. It's not his fault that you don't want to take it.
It's called medical advice. Good grief.
One day, there will be a situation where someone get's hurt. I have no doubt....
He said what he did because there are more problems with increased secretions and spasms of the airways because of smoking....which complicates going under anesthesia..not to mention that whole lung cancer thing.
MM
if he said "quit smoking and pray to Jesus"
now you got a lawsuit!!!!!
It's legal. It doesn't take a genius to know that smoking is bad. It's no less legal for him to say it than your neighbor or your brother.
Give yourself a day or two - you are probably too close to the surgery. You probably also have some effects of any post-op meds going. Last time I had surgery, I figured the most I could be trusted to do was read FR - didn't think I should post while "under the influence".
What exactly is it about that situation that makes you so mad?
I went to the doc in the Navy once for an ear infection and he asked me if I smoked. I said yes. He grumbled something to the effect of, "I don't know why we have to waste our time on you people", like I was already dead.
LOLOL,, this is a joke, right?
Quityerbitchin....
Quityerbitchin....
Just be glad you didn't have Clinton's mom as your anesthesiologist, she'd be chain smoking Kools and reading the Sporting News while giving you the gas.
I hope you recover from surgery soon and completely.
Good grief. Get over it.
And quit smoking!!!
Oh, sorry - you were saying? And the %^&#ing anesthesiologist I had to go to at a pain clinic a couple (three?) years back ... well ... if I ever see him on the street I'm gonna kick his little Korean ass.
His two treatments (spinal injections) were failures and the maggot told me basically "too bad, a 3rd one would be useless and don't come back, don't call and NO I'm not writing you any RXs" - in short, go to hell - all because I didn't have Insurance and didn't have $200K for spinal surgery.
And I'll pay the fluckers bill when hell freezes over. Grrrrrrrrr
:-)
