I am 2 hours post-op surgery.
The last words I heard before going under anesthesia were: "Quit Smoking"..from the anestheseologist.
The first words I heard coming out of the anesthesia, again by the anestheseologist, were "QUIT SMOKING".
Please...no pros\cons of smoking. Perhaps I'm too close to the surgery but, smoking now dries out my mouth, taste absolutely rotten and gives me a headache. I now have very little desire to smoke.
Please, no comments about no desire.
I don't think what the anestheseologist did is right. It's not his call to get me to quit smoking, it's mine...if and when I'm ready.
Is what he did legal ?

Just be glad you didn't have Clinton's mom as your anesthesiologist, she'd be chain smoking Kools and reading the Sporting News while giving you the gas.
This jerk anesthetist was obviously having some fun at the patient's expense. We had one here locally who did the same sort of stuff. He is no longer employed, and he tried to convert conservatives to liberals by getting them to love Bill Clinton and other sorts of things, including smoking. He was getting complaints from doctors and patients for years before they finally let him go. He ran for city council and lost.
I know this stuff goes on. I even saw it at the VA hospital. It is everywhere.
Most Medico's think it's funny.....I don't. I'd sue their nuts off....
