So a minor 17th century Irish cleric is right, and the entire scientific discipline is wrong. Ok...

Make that 6009...there was no year zero, so for any interval in years between a date B.C. and a date A.D., you have to subtract one.

>>But the author of the book frequently described as the greatest history book ever written, said the world was created Oct. 23, 4004 B.C. – making it 6,010 yesterday.<<

What laughable baloney. Anybody that has studied this knows this guy is full of it.

He got the year right, but it's JUNE 23rd!

I wonder if the book includes a chapter entitled "The Flat Earth" along with it's other amazing revelations?

Buried in Westminster Abbey

Is that a special feature of the book, or the author?

This sounds like a great book. I don't believe that Aeneas, son of Venus, fled Ilium to deliver Italia into the Julian bloodline -- but I read the Aeneid anyway. Ancient historical history is a type of history all its own. (Even if Ussher did ignore the huge gap of time between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 and the potential for skipped generations in the genealogies.)

Ussher concluded there must be good reason for this (the Jewish tradition of the calendar beginning in Autumn), so he chose the first Sunday following autumnal equinox.

So he just flat out guessed? I'm sold!

It's only that old if you copletely ignore proven physics and use an old scientifically illiterate churchman as the authority for the age of the planet.
