Sweetest Day Weekend
Hello, I'm Nowhere Man, host for this weekend's Singles Freeper Thread. This weekend will feature "Sweetest Day." I figure I would use this opportunity for us to talk about our first love, our sweetest love, or whatever is appropriate. As you can see, I'm ready to taxi and takeoff, so as I shove the throttles forward and get the turboprops running, we are ready to go! |
Many of us here, although single, have successfully found another to share their lives with with the hopes of making it a lifelong commitment. Even in today's turbulent world, it is quite possible. However, there are many of us who have not had the experience or much experience (including yours truly) on getting to this goal. I figure, I would devote this thread to "Sweetest Day" along with stories of how one has met their sweetest, a favorite story with their sweetests or perhaps ideas on how to go about getting their sweetests. As Ross Perot said, "I'm all ears," and I know I'm not the only one. One thing though, no sour grapes or "wizzing" in the pool here, at least keep it to the minimum. I'd like to keep the horror stories down, maybe we can do that another time, but I want to reinforce positive ideas, not negative ones. |

Sorry for the late ping, guys, still trying to whip this computer into shape. Right now, I'm "jonesin'" for a cheap monitor for my laptop, at least I could get back to Freeping and surfing in the living room. I'll be back after I kill a few brain cells watching "Frankenstein vs. The Space Monster." B-)

That looks like my sister's cat Tigger.
Tigger and my cat O'Reilly are like buddies and play mates when they're together.

Hello, guys!!!
Checking in tonight. Home on another Saturday night(the story of my life---now and forever, most likely...)
next weekend(Thursday-Sunday) I will be out of town. My usual Tennesee trip(Gatlingburg, Seiverville, Pigeon Forge, Cherokee).
Of course--if the DUmmies steal the election and pass their "mandatory voluntary service bill", for ALL persons(M and F) from the age of 19-42, I reckon I will not be alone anymore..Nor will many of us here.
Voluntary mandatory service.Must be a new PC term for DRAFT!!

Like this morning, he CRIED his little eyes out, so crawled out of bed and I said "OK, let's get you some food and water!"
Then I go back to bed to lay down for a while longer. He jumps up on the bed, CRIED his little eyes out, and I wondered what was wrong with him. So I thought maybe he needs his litter box cleaned, so I put my shoes and jacket on, and took it outside and cleaned his litter box out. Bring it back in and jumped back into my warm bed and he jumps into the litterbox, and crawls into bed and we both fell asleep.

Interesting movie, low budget, but a lot of neat stock footage. "Frankenstein vs. The Space Monster" was made in 1965. Basically it was about where NASA shot an android (his name was Frank, where they got the "Frankenstein" from) into space but he had problems so he had to come back to Earth. He lands in Puerto Rico (with stock footage of an Apollo capsule landing on land) There was also an alien spaceship on the Island, survivors from an atomic war on their own planet, with a crew of about 10 men, one commander and their princess. Their mission was to take Earth women as breeding stock to repopulate their planet.
Frank bails out of the space capsule and lands near the spaceship via parachute, he encounters the aliens, the aliens shoot him but only damage him. One side of his head, you can see printed circuit boards allong with what looks like a transistor radio on the side of his head. Later on, when one of his makers repairs him to at least get around better, I saw the dial on the radio that says 54 to 16 on it for the AM band. Frank killed a few people when they attacked him, sort of where his self preservation program kicked in. This created a kerfuffle so the scientists and military were called in. While this is going on, the aliens were kidnapping women, zapping anyone who gets in their way.
Well, the scientists who created Frank, a man and a woman, with the help of the military went searching for Frank but when the scientists see the alien ship, the man (the woman was sent back to get help earlier but the aliens capture her) calls back to the military and things start to gear up. You see soldiers armed with M1 Garands and BARS boarding helicopters, F-86 sabre jets, F-100's, F-102's, F-104's scrambling, M-48 tanks going into the field along with many jeeps. The Army and Air foce start bombarding the ship with rockets and mortars but to no avail. The aliens fear that we would nuke them prepare to take off. The woman calls out to the android, he frees her and the women so they escape, the aliens release the monster in the ship to take on the android, the android kills the monster with one of their rayguns and blast the ship to pieces as it was taking off and it was over.
Some interesting props that it was a transistor radio on the side of Frank's head, I saw numerous "roundie" color TV sets (it was filmed in black and white), and when the scientists and military were first called to Puerto Rico, they took off in a B-52 (stock footage) but later, it was the more correct C-135 (707) plane. Not bad movie really, for being low budget.

Dang, what in the heck are they trying to do, cause emigration to Mexico, Canada and Central America?! Cause riots in the streets?! Charlie Rangel must be hitting on some the crack that comes out of Harlem.

Hopefully by the time this gets passed, I don't think it will fly, but you never rule things out, maybe we will be too old. Otherwise, it would give us an excuse to open up a TV repair shop/electronics store in Costa Rica. D-P One good thing, maybe we can get lucky and find some nice, pious, lovely, Latina women, settle down, raise a family. B-D I just hope the satellite footprints for the NFL games and so on reach that far down south, I sure hate to miss my Steelers and "Adult Swim" on the Cartoon Network.
