Hey, did anyone else catch Steve Centanni last night? He was doing one of those half-hour live updates during the evening shows. He may have come back earlier, but that was the first time I've seen him since his kidnapping a few months ago. Glad to see him looking well, considering the alternative!
Ah, he's a sellout for converting under the knife. Should have spit in their eyes and taken it like a man. /sarc
I agree with everything that you said ECEPT the sarc!!!!
Was he wearing a bhurka?
LLS
I'm sure he won't be reporting on Fridays...
Did he close by saying "Allahu Akhbar?"
I saw him on Fox last Saturday. The 'previous assignment' was briefly referred to.
What would YOU do under the same situation?
He's been doing reports for several days.
Is his name still Steve Centanni or is it Muhummad Ach-In-Amazad or something?
centanni and his cameraman are probably seculars, so denouncing their own "religion" and taking on Islam probably means nothing to them.
The kidnappers should have asked them to renounce their real religion; liberalism. It would have been interesting to see if they converted from that.
I saw him a couple of days ago.
"The kidnappers should have asked them to renounce their real religion; liberalism. It would have been interesting to see if they converted from that."
Great point.
I would hope that in that situation I would never claim allah as anything more than a false god regardless of what weapon they'd use against me or mine.
I've got eternity to look forward to. :)
I'll bet his family doesn't.
Why is that?
Because there are people who take their faith seriously?
And because there are people who wonder if they'd be so willing to renounce their faith?
That makes them a-holes?
A real A-hole is someone who brings nothing to a debate but name-calling.
The New York Sun reports that the Palestinian terrorist group, Holy Jihad Brigades, offered the kidnapped journalist three choices: conversion to Islam, paying the jizya (non-Muslim tax paid to their Muslim masters) or war [death]. The journalists chose the conversion option. This is said to be another example of the Islamic war against Western nations being religious in nature rather than political.
Centanni said: "I changed my name to Khaled. I have embraced Islam and say the word Allah."
