After years of trying to reason with public officials two West Virginia men are directly encouraging parents and students to "Just Say No" to evolutionism indoctrination.

So two West Virginia college dropouts are lecturing scientists on "junk science"... and this is news? I don't even think it rises to the level of junk science. You could grow a lot of crops with this stuff!

Ah, no need to answer, I would not answer either, if that was my website...it seems that website is geared to get either yours or someone elses campaign off the ground...just was wondering how successful you have been so far...That website is a steaming pile. It offers this phony challenge, and lists all those who have laughed it off.
If they want to challenge the scientific data and theories, the libraries are filled with journals--whole floors of journals--dedicated to the evolutionary sciences and ancillary fields. That is where the "challenge" must be addressed. And it must be addressed through the scientific method.
Their pitiful little challenge is worthless, as science is not a side show, argued before a gullible audience or a court. It works on the slow accumulation and testing of both data and theory, with scientists as the arbiters of what is accepted. If they have evidence against evolution, they should submit it to one of the many scientific journals.
As Heinlein pointed out years ago:
What are the facts? Again and again and again - what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore divine revelation, forget what 'the stars foretell,' avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable 'verdict of history' -- what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue. Get the facts! Robert A. Heinlein, Time Enough for Love, 1973

This has to be the most laughable creationist 'article' post I've seen on FR, and that's saying something, given the competition around here.

I'd doubt that eolution is a lie. It's most probably just an honest delusion by occlusion that many really, really, really want it to be true.

I'd doubt that eolution is a lie. It's most probably just an honest delusion by occlusion that many really, really, really want it to be true. The only delusion being suffered is the one which denies the mountains of evidence in support of the ToE. The lies then come out in defense of this delusion.

If there were mountains of evidence there would not be this intense debate lasting for decades. Truth that is clear and present brooks no debate except from tiny minorities, and the people unconvinced ain't no tiny minority.

There would be (and is) "debate" if the mountains of evidence were (and is) being willfully ignored. On the other hand, among those who *have* observed and understand the evidence, there is no such debate.

No, among those who
desire that evolution be true, there is no debate. If a thing is absolutely true, it is clear that it is true in a way that can't be denied by any reasonable man because the evidence is
understandable by anyone. Too many have looked into it and rejected it, included some very intelligent men and trained scientists.
If there were any kind of preponderance of evidence at all, there would be no scientists who could argue.

You are presuming that such a desire exists, and that it is sufficient to cloud the objectivity of the thousands upon thousands of trained scientists.
I doubt that many people actually understand the Theory of Relativity as well. The only reason *it* isn't suffering the same type of attack is that it doesn't conflict with certain peoples' religious beliefs.

Both websites referred to are steaming piles...
Any website that encourages people to use the Jack Chick comics to argue the evolution/ID/creation debate, has already lost, and lost big time...

There is no "debate" and there hasn't been for the last hundred years. The braying of ignorant, uneducated, or misguided religious believers has no standing within the scientific community.

A student can provide a debate challenge to any teacher who tries to cram evolutionism down the student's throat. Dr. Charles Jackson will debate any group of college professors and/or public school teachers. A jury of uncommitted high school students will decide the winner. In other words, people who don't know a thing about the subject will render the final verdict.
Only in America...
