Years ago a friend's son was before a judge. He was arrested because his motorcycle had no muffler. During the proceedings, as the judge was chastizing said kid, the judge broke window-rattling wind whereupon the kid promptly said, "What? No muffler?"

It appears he was jailed for laughing. He hasn't learned to laugh on the inside while looking with shock at the fella standing next to him. It works.
