Ahhh Dixie, don't worry too much about flaming here on FR.
The mods keep us pretty much in line as far as that goes.
In the "Old days" the flame wars were so instese it made a red giant's affects look like a cool spring day.
You will find everyone her passionate, opinionated, knowledgeable and above all dedicated to bringing our nation's ideals back inline to those of our founding Fathers.

I've been here long enough I can turn up almost anywhere. While I won't be "banned" immediately, I may not be "welcomed," either.
It's safer for me to stay on the UT, since I have a problem with my mouth...I sometimes don't know when too much is enough. ;o])
And how is that house coming along? Are you doing most of the work yourselves? And what have you done besides revamping the landscaping?
well the basement decided to flood (dead sump pump) so after fixing that (and a new sump did do the trick), I'm having to redrywall the basement.
I finished ripping the old carpet out today and we are going to lay tile down and then throw up the drywall.
We are hoping to that his done by the end of October.
After that we will be redoing the family room.

I'm trying to recover from my four hours with my brother, sis-in-law, nephew and his wife. I'm SO glad I wore "sensible shoes!"
I didn't even get to say goodbye to my nephew. I think he talked his wife into going to the Stratosphere Tower to ride the roller coaster, the "Big Shot" and whatever other new rides they have at the top of that thing.
(My son will be oh-so-envious of his cousin!)

Last time I was around for carpet ripping, I wished I had taken in a yard sale, or gone to a movie...lots of dust and ugly smells!
But I DO know the work on the remodeling is worth it all when it's finished. Hang tough! "The longest journey begins with a single step." Someone brainy said that, once....;o]

well it started at one corner where it was very obvious that the carpet was molding, so that was already out, but the wife and I came up with the tiling idea so that we could get rid of the rest of it.

I have a friend who tiled his entire four bedroom house, including the Great Room. At the threshold from the kitchen to the master bedroom, the tiles were dark and light...dark on the kitchen side, light on the bedroom side. They were done in half squares (triangles) and it is a really good look.
The nice thing is that when the carpet went out, so did the worst of the odors.
yeah the smell wasn't horrible, but it was always there.
Just a grizzled vet from the Friday thread when it was worth the effort.
