Hello, new member here. Is it customary to introduce yourself before posting? I'm a sales guy in Northern VA across the river from DC.
That's all.

I wish I'd signed up when I first started lurking, I might not have gotten the noob treatment so often. Ahh well another thing for the regret pile.

...but I'm sure I'll have to disappear from time to time That interest in keeping up with home and work will start to subside after about five weeks around the forum.

Let's all give three raspberries to the scurvy-drawn, bow legged rogue named Modern_Pirate.First of all, no ping for me, ye scurvy dog?
Secondly, what if the Modern_Pirate doesn't like raspberries? Maybe he prefers strawberries...

Glad to have you along! If you don't have a thick skin you'll be driven off but if you can hang, you'll have a great time.

Like this one, some posts will just take off for no apparent reason while others will die. I still haven't figured out the dynamic there.

Thanks, I'll keep those in mind.. when I'm writing letters to editors and/or anything for publication.
But for the fast pace inter-net chat? I'll stay with the extemporaneous, casual form and not worry so much about they're/their/there and you're/your. If anyone is unable to overlook a few typos and/or omissions due to delete/insert and must ignore the substance over style, I have no problem with anyone blocking my messages or not bothering to respond.
In kind, I'll do likewise!
But again, thanks, aren't you just the helpful howitzer?

Thanks, I've had fun on the Yahoo Bulletin boards before! And believe me, how people treat each other when there is not another person in front of them is shameless! I always have high hopes of different groups, but IMHO opinions aren't right or wrong, they're just in the majority or minority. If someone wants to slam/flame me for anything, feel free, but do know flames shoot both ways!
