Things are quiet and peaceful in small-town Jericho, Kansas, but when a baffling explosion occurs in the distance, Jericho's residents are plunged into social, psychological and physical chaos. No one knows what to think, and fear of the unknown takes over the town, especially because its isolation cuts it off from outside help. When nearly everything they know seems gone, will the residents of JERICHO band together to face their unfamiliar and mysterious new world?
I watch it religiously every week, but do want more... The thing is, if they made it more realistic, with people going batty (as many would), hungry, dirty etc - they can't make it fall apart too quickly- or people wouldn't watch it (or at least network TV assumes so). I was a bit annoyed with the Iraq reference last week.
help with Chinese flags on it next week.
Teaser said it was help from outside, or was it help from the enemy?
I wonder what the Morse Code message was for this week.
Chinese supplies get dropped next week. Have we been invaded?
According to WIkipedia it was AM TV SURPRISE!
What that means is beyond me.
According to www.jericho-forum.com
"I am a licensed amateur radio operator.
The morse code in JERICHO intro changes each week:
#1 JERICHO PILOT
#2 JERICHO FALLO
#3 JERICHO THREE
#4 HE KNOWS ROB
#5 THERE IS A FIRE
#6 THE EMP HITS
#7 PRAY FOR NYC
#8 ROB NOT FBI
#9 AOV SURPRISE ( I don't understand this one - help! )
I clearly hear "AOV SURPRISE" , if this was intended to be "1ST SURPRISE" the spacing was very poor. There have been spacing problems with other messages, maybe the morse code is being sent by that crazy ham from the pilot program.
The messages copied by Robert Hawkins in program #2 were:
DELTA CO DE DELTA 2 MINUTE WARNING U
SCORE REMAINS SCORELESS "
I figured that Rob and Jake had the same or at least similar training. They may have known each other slightly in Iraq.
PRAY FOR NYC
Was this the episode where we found out that New York had been spared because the perps were caught with the bomb in a 55 gallon drum?
AOV SURPRISE or 1ST SURPRISE?
Good question. The only real surprise in this episode was Jonah's willingness to help the townspeople. However, I was somewhat surprised to see Rob kill the mercenary with a rifle that had a silencer. Something from his basement?
DELTA CODE DELTA 2 MINUTE WARNING U SCORE REMAINS SCORELESS
At this point in the story, we had confirmed hits on Denver and Atlanta. By the end of the episode, Rob had confirmed 8 hits total on his map. I can't see how the score was scoreless.
Concering those supplies from China that drop from the sky next week. We saw a Chinese telecast showing the cities that were hit. Strange as it may sound, those supplies might be genuine aid from the Chinese. If they were invading, they would be dropping paratroops, not supplies.
I didn't know there was a Jericho thread until just now.
I think the implication ("What if this is Wave II?") was that they could be poisonous or carry infectious agents or something else, if the Chinese were responsible.
I don't think the network is ever going to say exactly who is responsible for the bombs, and they certainly won't name a specific country like China. That's way too politically incorrect.
I like the show, it's interesting. I really can't stand the main Mom old lady though. Every scene she's in is pure schmaltz accompanied by music worthy of a "feminine protection" commercial. And the just-dumped wife is another terrible actress. But the plot chugs along nicely. I give it a solid "B".
Hubby and I have recently gotten hooked on this series. Our Comcast OnDemand feature had four or five episodes available to watch a few weeks ago, and I was looking for something to watch. I think we started with Episode 4 or so. Anywho, we watched all that were available, and now we are eagerly anticipating each show. Hubby is so hooked that he went to the website for the show and found that you can watch all the episodes so far. That was good because we were able to put more pieces together.
On the website, it has a list of character bios. The deaf girl is said to be "mastermind of the operation." Do you have any idea what that means?
I had another thought, but it has escaped me now. :)
I checked the website. The "operation" in question is the family farm. The deaf girl's brother is impetuous and doesn't think things through. She does. But her brother's male pride is such that she can't let him know that she's the one doing the thinking for both of them.
Episode 10 Ping!

FReepmail me if you want to be added to or removed from the JERICHO Ping List.
I somehow missed your post to me. I think you're right about the "operation", but it did have me watching the first few episodes over again. We're eagerly anticipating tonight's episode.
Is that graphic the view from Jericho or from Salem looking towards Danvers?
For a few seconds last night, it could be both.
I suppose there's nothing like having a large explosion and the house rattling waking me out of bed to see a glowing mushroom-looking cloud rise in the distance.
It was surreal.
WHats the deal with all the chinese stuff falling from the sky?
The mountain looks a lot like Pikes Peak ... which (according to my license plates) isn't in Kansas.
Relief supplies from the Chinese, but no one knows if its really relief or part of a second wave of attacks.
I remember the concerns in the 80's about the LNG tankers that went under the Tobin Bridge to dock in the Mystic River basin. Perhaps that concern should be back under consideration again. What you experienced last night pales in comparison to that potential disaster.
I think, according to wikipedia, the mountains in that particular shot were filmed somewhere in California
From WIkipedia...
According to an "official" map of Jericho shown on the CBS website, Interstate 70, State Route 83, and State Route 40 converge in Jericho; but in the real world, Interstate 70, U.S. Route 83, and U.S. Route 40 converge in Oakley, Kansas, which is 70 miles from the Colorado border. Although the people of Jericho witness a nuclear explosion "from the west," which is believed to have occurred at Denver and is clearly visible over a nearby mountain range, in the real world the Rocky Mountains are not visible from Kansas -- or even from most of eastern Colorado.
