I think that he (Pitt) might do an excellent job.I wouldn't bet on that. Mission IV will be so loaded down with special effects that there won't be much chance for the actors to shine. This is a franchise movie, and frankly I'm surprised Pitt would consider doing it. Then again, he seems set to make another "Oceans" -- God help us all.

He lost his balls when he hooked up with Jolie. Now, he's nothing more than a lap dog. I read a few weeks ago that studios are worried that Brad has lost his masculine appeal because he is a 'follower' of Angie's, IOW, she pulls all the strings with him.

And he can't act to boot. That makes him the ideal choice for 'Mission: Impossible'.

By the time the movie comes out (2008?) tickets will cost $12 and they will have lost 20% of their audience. But hey, the price will even things out.
I don't mind the lead getting $26 million or a part of the action on a movie that will make 400,000,000 worldwide.

Agreed. Except that I loved him in Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The dynamics between the two was classic drama/comedy.

So it is true, Pluto is no longer a planet and Tom Cruise is no longer a star (appologies to Letterman where I stole this joke).

And Pitt will not demand a percentage of the overall revenue like Cruise.

Heck - Clive Owen got robbed out of James Bond, they can't take him for this?

I don't think Brad Pitt gets the credit he deserves for his acting. He does at least a good job in most movies. And then he was outstanding in both 12 Monkeys and Fight Club. And he does pretty varied jobs as opposed to Tom Cruise who plays Tom Cruise in every movie.

I really liked that movie too, but I was surprised to see Brad actually act and sound comfortable on the camera. It had been awhile. I also think that Edward Burns is a great actor and would have done well in the part. He does well in all his parts, and he looks good too... :)

Jason whatshisname from "The Transporter"
I don't know what his name is either, but he would be awesome in a MI flick.
Although I'd take Bruce Willis as a close second, although I think it would be pushing the MI role a bit - maybe he could make it work though.
Heck, I bet there are plenty of unemployed actors who could do a better job than either Cruise or Pitt.
I think I would find Pitt especially unbelievable in the MI role. IMHO, he's always playing "Brad Pitt" in whatever movie he does and Brad Pitt doesn't work in MI. At least Cruise, in spite of his wacky personal life, can appear to get into character and be believable in MI.

You might be right. But the movie itself was so bad that I could not see any redeeming qualities anywhere in it. I was poisoned.
I think that he has the ability, given a good vehicle.

Brad Pitt is reportedly in. The handsome blonde hunk is reportedly set to replace Tom Cruise in the latest installment of the "Mission: Impossible" movies - "Mission: Impossible IV."
Oh Happy Days. ANOTHER MI sequel - whoopee! (which as I recall was a freaking' TV show)
Hey Hollyweird here's an idea - free of charge - how about a "My Mother The Car Movie". Robin Williams (or some other hack comic) can play the Jerry Van Dyke part and J-Lo can play his mother's voice.
If Robin gets to big from his britches he can be replaced as the new car's owner and J-Lo too as the new owners mom. Heck this should be good for at least seven sequels.
Free of charge idea #2 - try making a movie from a NOVEL - you know a BOOK - like the 'evil Studios' used to do.
