Maira Oliveira - All Headline News Reporter Los Angeles, CA (BANG) - Tom Cruise is out, and Brad Pitt is reportedly in. The handsome blonde hunk is reportedly set to replace Tom Cruise in the latest installment of the "Mission: Impossible" movies - "Mission: Impossible IV."
Tom was recently dropped by Paramount Studios dropped because of his "unacceptable conduct" in public and the bombing box office results of his third movie in the franchise.
Now it seems the studio bosses are set to turn to Brad to rescue the ailing franchise.
One industry insider told Britain's London Light newspaper, " 'Mission: Impossible IV' will not include Tom's character, agent Ethan Hunt. They're considering a brief mention, saying Hunt retired to live a safe life with his new wife. They're set on Brad taking over as a gutsy new head operative who puts together his own unique team of specialists."
Studios bosses are allegedly considering offering Brad over $26 million to take on the role in the fourth movie - the biggest salary ever paid to an actor for one movie.
The actor is no stranger to the genre having already had big screen success in a number of action movies, including "Mrs and Mrs Smith" and "Spy Game" opposite Robert Redford.
Brad - who has two adopted children, Maddox, five, and 18-month-old Zahara, and one biological daughter, four-month-old Shiloh Nouvel, with partner Angelina Jolie - is currently filming the latest addition in another successful franchise, "Ocean's Thirteen," in Los Angeles.
I think I like Tom Cruise more than Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt seems like a total tool. And he can't act to boot.
Yawn. Brad is so 2001.
The things we get to worry about in terrorist-free America...
Maybe Tom can reprise the Police Academy series.
They should use Bruce Willis. "in 15 seconds this tape will self destruct. Welcome to the party pal!"
So much for keeping stars salaries down. What phoney baloney people these are.
26 million for the guy in 'Thelma and Louise'??
While Brad has done some stinkers (Joe Black, Mr. and Mrs. Smith), he has shined on occasion (Fight Club), and shined brightly (12 monkeys) on others.
I think that he might do an excellent job. Sorry, Tom.
This information may cause Tom to finally come out of the closet.
Behold! The modern, liberal family. Descriptions like "married with three children" just don't compute for a lot of people anymore. These days, its all about which kid you have with which "partner", and the term "married" and "husband/wife" hardly enters into it.
Luckily, most of us won't know the difference.
Bad move replacing one twinkie prettyboy with another. A change of direction would invigorate a tired franchise. Perhaps Helen Hunt.
You just described Tom Cruise not Bard Pitt.
Are there no "men" actors in Hollywood?
Helen Hunt has darling little figure pert young oh nevermind
