I don't know what his name is either, but he would be awesome in a MI flick.

Although I'd take Bruce Willis as a close second, although I think it would be pushing the MI role a bit - maybe he could make it work though.

Heck, I bet there are plenty of unemployed actors who could do a better job than either Cruise or Pitt.

I think I would find Pitt especially unbelievable in the MI role. IMHO, he's always playing "Brad Pitt" in whatever movie he does and Brad Pitt doesn't work in MI. At least Cruise, in spite of his wacky personal life, can appear to get into character and be believable in MI.

I have to admit I have liked Cruise in a few flicks (Top Gun, Minority Report) and he can inhabit a role (as you point out Pitt is just Pitt).

In general, I don't hold an actor or singer's politics against them or I would never have been able to enjoy the LOTR trilogy. I just figure they are too stupid to be able to form independent ideas. That is, unless they are so over the top and around the bend that it matters (Sarandon, Babs, Harrelson, Jane Fonda).

And of course, Tom isn't THAT political -- he is just a nut case.

Tom's story will make a great cautionary tale about thinking you are so big you can operate with impunity.

Jason Stratham was The Transporter, who preformed his own stunts. Very much a man in a Hollywood of non-men.
