HONOLULU (AP) TV reality star Duane "Dog" Chapman and two co-stars on his show were arrested early Thursday in Hawaii on charges of illegal detention and conspiracy in an alleged kidnapping three years ago in Mexico, U.S. Marshals said.
Chapman, 53, his son Leland Chapman, and associate Timothy Chapman were taken into custody in an operation involving 15 officers, said Mark Hanohano, U.S. Marshal for the district of Hawaii. They did not resist arrest, he said.
"All three were very compliant," Hanohano said. "It went down without incident."
Mona K. Wood, a publicist for the star of the popular A&E series "Dog the Bounty Hunter," said Chapman would be "vindicated."
"He arrests the bad guys and he is definitely not one of them," she said.
Irony can be really ironic sometimes.
Can't wait to see this episode of DOG the Bounty Hunter .
I bet this is in relation to the Andrew Luster case. Chapman tracked down and found that rapist scum down there and this is the thanks he gets for it?!
Max Factor heir returns to face prison term
Wasn't Dog's original arrest in Mexico and subsequent release and return to the US one of the first episodes of his show?
I'm not a regular viewer but I think I recall this from channel surfing a couple of years ago.
He's getting screwed. He helped catch a rapist and this is how he is thanked.

Yeah, even bounty hunters have to obey the law. How crazy is that?
Oh I know why, because A&E decided shows like his were better than quality programming and they canceled the remainder of the Horatio Hornblower series.
Set the Dog free!
Set the Dog Free!
As I heard the story related this morning, Mexico would not arrest and return to the United States, a man charged with three rapes. "Dog" went down and took the guy into custody. The Mexican government stepped in and arrested "Dog", releasing him but demanding he return to face charges. He did not return.
Here our government shows it's willingness to jump to Mexico's tune, when Mexico tells us to stuff-it across to board.
Frankly, as it applies to our Mexican relations, I'm about as dumbfounded by it's actions and angry at our government as I could get.
I think you're right. I know very little about bounty hunters. Are they allowed to cross national borders and bring back Americans without an extradition treaty with that country or extradition papers?
And sadly trash TV sells better than decent programing.
Did Mexico honor extradition treaties with the U.S. regarding this perp? No! They didn't lift a finger to apprehand him and return him to the U.S. Dog did precisely what I would want him to and both governments didn't.

I guess he's to good at what he does. He's making the "professionals" look bad.
I am no fan of Chapman. But,,,,,,
This guy is in business. He is a TV star. He is totally prominent. Why in the name of logic does it take the US Marshalls service 15 people to go bust in his door in the middle of the night and arrest him? It seems like the USMS is loaded with a bunch of punks who knew that this would make the news and they wanted to be photographed.
In reality, all they would have had to do was to give this guy a call and tell him to come down to their office at a pre-set time to discuss some business, and he would have gone. This deal stinks. Our system is seriously flawed, and this is prima facia evidence of it. Chapman is a jerk, and totally unrealistic of the business, but that doesnt keep him from being treated fairly in this situation.
