McGreevey 'in love' from the first kiss ("We made passionate, whispering, masculine love”)
The Star Ledger ^ | Friday, September 15, 2006 | Mark Mueller

Posted on 09/15/2006 7:55:45 AM PDT by dead

In his highly anticipated memoir, former Gov. James E. McGreevey writes of his deep love for the man who ended his political career, the destruction of his second marriage and the events that forced him into his stunning admission on national television that he is gay.

In "The Confession," the former governor also touches on New Jersey's sometimes seamy political landscape, where cash, cronyism and a handful of powerful men intersect.

But the 384-page book focuses mostly on McGreevey's secret life, from his frequent sexual encounters with men at highway rest stops to his infatuation with Golan Cipel, the Israeli national McGreevey plucked from obscurity and placed on the state payroll as his homeland security adviser.

Though electrified by Cipel from their first meeting in Israel, where McGreevey was on a trade mission in 2000, the former governor said the two did not have sexual rela tions until early December 2001, when Dina Matos McGreevey was in the hospital for the birth of the couple's daughter, Jacqueline.

As a State Police guard detail waited outside the then-governor elect's Woodbridge condominium, McGreevey took Cipel by the hand and led him upstairs.

"We undressed and he kissed me. It was the first time in my life that a kiss meant what it was supposed to mean -- it sent me through the roof," he writes. "I was like a man emerging from 44 years in a cave to taste pure air for the first time, feel direct sunlight on pallid skin, warmth where there had only ever been a bone-chilling numbness.

"I pulled him to the bed and we made love like I'd always dreamed: a boastful, passionate, whispering, masculine kind of love."

You need to add a gag alert when you post this stuff.

I really thought the title would convey the overall barfiness of the article adequately.

It’s not just gay, it’s vandamn gay.

“Good heavens, Knipe! What’s this!” Mr. Bohlen’s thin purple fish-lip was moving slightly as it mouthed the words, his cheeks were beginning slowly to inflate.

“But look here, Knipe! This is outrageous!”

“I must say it’s a bit fruity, sir.”

Fruity! It’s perfectly revolting! I can’t possibly put my name to it!”

“Quite right, sir. Quite right.”

“Knipe! Is this some nasty trick you’ve been playing on me?”

“Oh no, sir! No!”

“It certainly looks like it.”

“You don’t think, Mr. Bohlen, that you mightn’t have been pressing a little hard on the passion-control pedals, do you?”
