Get off your troll pulpit. I'm skeptical of a few things in our goverment, the main issue being illegal immigration.
Gas prices falling precipitously during an election cycle? I don't have a problem being skeptical about that you obvioulsy have a problem with my even thinking it.
It's been that way in Puerto Rico since the early 80's. Everyone there thinks they're getting a great deal until they do the math. They're still getting a decent price, but they don't quite realize that they're paying through the nose.
Not quite, i like high prices when I'm selling and low prices when I'm buying.
And I never hound you, I point out goofy ideas on a "conservative" site that belong on a liberal site.
The fact that you make a lot of them on this subject makes it seem like I'm picking on you personally. It's the ideas you present that need refuting, not you.

You need to get off your ass, quit bitching, and move to a different place and get a different job if you want more money for other stuff and less for energy.
If you had started that process when you started bitching about the gas price months and months ago, you could be all set up by now. LOL
Ditto here, though some stations are being stubborn and are stuck in the 30s and 40s. But, they should have some dramatic falls next week. Once they get new supplies, they will fall.
So was Huff's in Youngsville (but I don't buy Citgo any more!) and Wilco on Capital.
And no amount of explaining gets through to you that the alternate energy will be JUST AS HIGH! Your problem won't be solved by high prices that make other sources come into the market, their prices will be almost the same, you will still be screwed.
But I still say that's a fair price for a gallon of gas.
That's because you are a buyer, not a seller.
The fair price for anything at any moment in time is the price two people agree on.
However I don't see the federal government ever deregulating radioactive and nuclear power sources. But it is still a great way to generate heat and electric power at centralized locations.
Why don't you offer that price on the open market and see if anyone in the world will provide you gas for that price. Let's see if there is any seller who believes that is a fair price.

There is a thermochemical cracking process that can be used on water to crack the hydrogen and oxygen. Inputs are heat (700-900 C), some chemicals, and water. Outputs are oxygen, hydrogen, and those chemicals to be reused. Net output is oxygen, hydrogen, and heat, which theoretically could be used at the desalinization plant next door that supplies the water to the cracking plant.
The process requires a lot of heat but that's what nuclear reactors produce. The process has not yet been commercialized however I know the Japanese are working on a pilot scale project.
Now all we have to do is get over our fear of nuclear power and the next step is to develop an efficient method to store hydrogen for use in vehicles.

That's a supply issue. Three of five refineries were down for repairs. Reserves dropped etc thereby keeping our prices higher than elsewhere (our prices have dropped, just not as much). No that the refineries are back on line, we should see the prices coming down.
The local media is bellyaching about the recent prices but they forget to mention the fact that we enjoyed some of the nation's lowest gas prices for months. So much for balance.
Wonder if natural gas prices are affected. Anyone know?
yep, the Huff's where you always want to pay for the gas at the pump, so you won't smell like you've been in a bar. I have never seen a smokier store in my life!
We now have more than two cops. Still, always do that 35 mph into town. I'm certain that most of the town's revenues depend on speeders. I saw an empty cop car at the ABC store, I wonder what that means? LOL!
I love your argument that a serious competitor for gasoline would have no effect on the price.

Actually one of the cops (or his mother maybe) lives right there beside the little white church on the right headed towards Johnson's Farmers Market at the 1A / 96 split.
On the other hand, gasoline is far more dangerous than most people think.
