Week Three College Football
Week Two gave everyone the earliest #1 vs. #2 showdown in modern college football history. The game, however, turned out to not really live up to the hype. This week we are treated to SEVERAL big games, some of which are in conference in the SEC, and a historically significant rivalry renews in South Bend.
As always, all rankings are from the ESPN.com Scoreboard page. I will also list any games of interest (FReepmail me if you want your team included and I will include them from here on out) and any other games listed in my Yahoo league.
GAME of the WEEK
Saturday, September 16th, 2006 3:30 PM on CBS
(6) LSU at (3) Auburn (-3.5)
This is going to be a fun game to watch I think. We have Auburn which has been the odds-on favorite to win the SEC this year against a very good and very fast LSU team that is looking to spoil the Auburn season AND put itself into the national spotlight. Both teams feature strong defenses, good running games and good coaching. Fewest mistakes wins this game. Im going with the home team.
Auburn 16 LSU 13
Thursday September 14th, 2006 (ESPN Thursday Night Game)
Maryland at (5) West Virginia (-17)
West Virginia gets one of their rivalry games out of the way early. This should be a decent test for a team that hasnt beaten a BCS School yet.
Its not in the pickem league, but Ill give a pick anyway.

I agree. Best game I've watched in awhile.
LSU deserves alot of respect, and if I were a fan, I couldn't help but be a bit bitter, because I still think that call cost them the game.
Stick a fork in Oregon there done. Once Oklahoma wins I can go back to hating them again.
Definately affected the way it ended, if not the outcome. After that game they won't slip too far in the polls but that doesn't succor them too much at this moment.
I honestly thought LSU would win easily, but today, Auburn wanted it more. The offense just seemed out of gear all day, and when they finally realized they were in a game, they ran of time at the AU 6 yard line.
I heard a report that Brian Brohm will be out for as many as 5 weeks with a strained ligament in his thumb. How long until they play WV?
Well, nomatter the outcome, it was an amazing game to watch.
Now, I'm getting ready for the Nebraska-USC game. Hoping for an upset.......
They meet November 2, so Brohm should be back.
Good deal. Louisville's back up RBs stepped up when Bush went down, now it's up to the back up QB to do the same (he looked good in this game, but that's against cupcake Miami--never thought I'd say that).
Well, after that fumble I think we can safely dispense with the Brady Quinn for Heisman nonsense.
My goodness, Brady Quinn looked like Aaron Brooks on that last play. If he wins the Heisman after his performance today, you know that thing is rigged.
Maybe NBC can broker a deal wherein Reggie Bush gives Quinn his Heisman and the whole investigation just goes away
Texas is proving it's still very much around by beating up 31-0 on the mighty powerhouse...Rice. Now that's a way to climb back up in the polls, run up the score on an engineering school known for its baseball program.
Lloyd Carr pretty much saved his job, but I think Larry Coker will lose his after Miami stunk it up against Louisville.
OU is getting robbed here!
LOL
Oklahoma is getting screwed royally on that onside kick
a little home cookin'
LOL
I even agreed with Fouts, but he's still an idiot for being so vehement about that call...
I'm a Texas fan, so you know I'm not an OU fan, but I have never, in my entire life seen an Oklahoma team get a break from a ref. If OU wins a game, they earned it. The refs are doing everything they can to give this game to Oregon, and it looks like they've done it.
TD oregon! Refs to the rescue!
Anyone hear that radio commercial for the Visa Play? You've just seen it
