Steve Irwin Ripped by PETA: Crocodile Hunter 'Cheap Reality Star' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Josh Hart Sep 11, 2006
Steve Irwin has barely been laid to rest but the critics from his enemies already seem to be reveling in the fact that he was killed by an animal. Aussie feminist Germaine Greer got the ball rolling by saying that animals took their revenge on Irwin.
Steve Irwin Ripped by PETA: Crocodile Hunter 'Cheap Reality Star'
"The animal world has finally taken its revenge on Irwin, but probably not before a hole generation of kids in shorts seven sizes too small has learned to shout in the ears of animals with hearing 10 times more acute than theirs, determined to become millionaire animal-loving zoo-owners in their turn," she wrote in a bitter column aimed at getting her publicity.

Now here comes a member of PETA to pile on.
Jeannette Walls of MSNBC reports that the group's Dan Mathews says that it's "no shock at all" that Irwin died the way he did, and he's also branded Irwin a "cheap reality TV star."
"He made a career out of antagonizing frightened wild animals," says PETA's Mathews, "which is a very dangerous message to send to kids." And Mathews sniffs that Irwin's career wasn't particularly impressive at least not to him:
"If you compare him with a responsible conservationist like Jacques Cousteau, he looks like a cheap reality TV star."

I knew this was coming...
And full of wholes.
What a pair of nasty a-holes.
Left wingers like to spit on the dead.
Steve Irwin has done more for conservation than PETA ever has or ever will.
Notice how Irwin always called himself a "conservationist," not an "environmentalist."
Conservationists, like hunters and fishermen, actually get something done.
They'll be hearing from AETP, Animals for the Ethical Treatment of People, about this.
Steve Irwin never butchered high numbers of dogs and threw their bodies into dumpsters.
I hope Germaine Greer gets hers from an avenging soybean or a head of lettuce.
It's all because he was a supporter of John Howard.
Steve Irwin did more for conservation than those PETA dopes and left a positive legacy that Bill Clinton could only dream of leaving.
Hey PETA, winter is coming and I'll be getting out my mink coat soon and our freezer will once again be full of venison. :)
I wish we had a John Howard!
Crikey, I think another panty waist tub thumper just took another swipe at a corpse. What brave people these PETA folks are.
No Worries Mate!
Not good karma to speak evil things about the dead. Has a nasty way of biting the butt. Greer will get hers and so will this PETA dork.
**sigh** We should expect nothing less from them. Some people live a full life and impact others, then there are those that whine and complain because their lives are so meaningless.
At least he didn't euthanize his animals and throw their carcasses in the dumpster........
The lowest of the low, lower than Bill Clinton, lower than Paris Hilton after a three-day bender, are those who use events like the death of Steve Irwin to grab a few minutes in the spotlight and advance their asinine political agendas by saying something insanely stupid.
I assume that PETA's problem with Irwin was that he never expressed support for such things.
