9/11 and the ZOT
9-9-06 | ThinkWithJohn

What is a good response for those who question why the Secret Service did not immediately remove Bush from the classroom on 9/11 when, at the time, it would have been reasonable to consider him a target?

True, we know now that individuals weren't the target on 9/11 but at 9:03 am on 9.11, I don't understand why the Secret Service would assume the best and not the worst? Wouldn't it have made more sense to err on the side of caution and prudence?

The SS always assumes the worst. Keeping the President inside a building they already controlled WAS erring on the side of caution. Dragging him out of there without double-checking their exit route & possibly taking him *toward* danger at the airport, etc., would have been the stupidest and most dangerous thing they could do.

Chalk another one up for the

Pre-Mature E-Zot-U-Lators

I also thought it was a reasonable question presented in a civil manner.
Rudeness is not confined to DU and koskidz it looks like.

There has been an increase in trolls as the 9/11 anniversary approaches.

I wish you trolls actually remembered 9/11.

I seriously just wanted to hear what people thought about the question I raised because it's the one thing about 9/11 that I haven't been able to reconcile. Thanks. Peace. John.

Well, ThinkWithPeace.John., you were answered in this fashion because you seemed to have gotten your money's worth when you took the Conspiracy 101 seminar.

It is one of the points left that don't make you look like a TOTAL FOOL to everyone, just most of us. Please, be original.

I was initially stunned at the extraordinarily mean comments by a few others, but you give me hope. Thanks again. Peace. John.

Well, ThinkWithPeace.John., WE were initially stuned (FReepism, not typo) by the attacks on 9/11 to the U.S. THOSE were "extraordinarily mean."

You will want to should lurk here awhile and find out why we are still stuned. We want to know why the rest of the press (and you!) seem to forget that the President is working hard on this, yet.

And the Secret Service? They are doing a great job. They made this possible, and we thank them:

Taking all this into account, we have deemed you a troll. Have a Rummy Zot:

Well, I'm IATZ, but I'd like to reply to your comment. A newbie is unlikely to have absorbed all the rules. I know that when I was new here, I posted a vanity in Breaking News, that at least one person thought was ZOTable. I asked if DU was actually good for FR, and I made the case that it was.

This seems to have struck some people's antennas. However, if they had read the post. They would have realized that the post was not at all complimentary to DU. The Mods moved it to the appropriate forum, and here I still am.

Of course, it wasn't my very first post on my very first day, either. My point is sometimes you learn the rules by breaking them first. What do they say, "Experience is a hard school, but fools will learn in no other". I learned.

Some of these first day vanity trolls getzotted. Others don't. What is it going to take before you'll realize that's because the Mods are matching IP addresses to known trolls?

The main reason it's so irritating to see you post this stupid crap is that you seem far too smart to have trouble grasping this simple concept.

Thank You for your reply. I am aware of IP tracking and the results it allows.

I am also aware of how ridiculous it looks for a bunch of grown people to pile on like 3rd graders when a person, known or not, posts a reasonable query that happens to push some cranky geezers hot buttons. It looks childish, cliquish(?) and reflects a mob mentality that I find unsettling.

If the 'mods' have a problem with a post, fine, warn the poster, modify the post to remove objectionable items or delete the damn thing. Handle it in an adult professional manner. That is what, IMO, should be done on this forum. Raise the level, don't lower it.

And by the way...I rather like the term...Pre-Mature E-Zot-U-Lators...a nice play on words, IMO...:)
