Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

You know I identify with every word. ;-)

Especially as I'm just *finally* understanding it - and what I've done to the poor thing.

Haven't written much today. Better get started pretty soon, I guess.

"not that I'm advocating anything, but it might come in handy to know that the kidney is the only part of the human body that you can safely eat without cooking it first".

Gak!

But fascinating, just the same, I admit.

To watch his woods fill up with snow. :~)

I have the opposite problem. I understand my characters beautifully but I can't get that across on paper.

Well...I understood all my characters but one...I just didn't know what went in the holes in the story. Now I know. And I want to finish - really finish.

Facing months of rewriting and editing is a little daunting.

Yet another reason not to rely on public transportation.

Because someone might eat your kidneys? Or because it's ewie to eat the kidneys of total strangers if caught in a blizzard?

I'd say that those are both pretty good reasons.

Though if cooking is an option, that changes the dynamic somewhat.

Note to self: throw a bundle of wood in the jeep on snowy days.

I haven't figured out what's doing it yet. Its something about the refresh of the page, but it doesn't do it every time.

He was giving tips for emergencies, like being trapped for extended periods of time on public transportation due to blizzard conditions.

Kidneys huh? Makes a good argument for keeping one of those thin foil emergency blankets and a few granola bars in your purse or briefcase along with an extra bottle of water if you're on the bus or train.

Is that a large fern at the base of that tree in the last photo? It just looks magical.
