Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I'm all about this:

You Are a German Shepherd Puppy
Intelligent, quick witted, and a bit aggressive.
You've got the jaw power to take a bite out of anyone you choose.

I broke out the Muppets singing the Twelve Days of Christmas.

Mostly to (affectionately) annoy the office mate. (It's an annual tradition to do this right before Thanksgiving)

I get a kick out of Miss Piggy singing, "Five Gooooooolden Riiiiiiiings.... ba dum dumm dummm."

Heh...I like the way she gets more and more emphatic as the song goes on.

Heh... full re-writes are always fun.

I still have flaws in my plot but I am charging ahead fully loaded.

Clare called the other day. I was playing my CD, "Advent Carols from St. John's" (Cambridge). She asked, "Are you playing Christmas Music already"? I told her, "No, they are Advent Songs! But I'll start playing my Christmas CD's after Thanksgiving!" For some reason, I can't find my Anonymous 4 CD's! I have three, but can only find "A Star in the East", which is medieval Hungarian carols. It's like listening to the angels!

You Are a Rottweiler Puppy
Powerful, smart, and protective.
You're eager to growl at anyone you hate - but you're a big sweetheart inside.

You Are a Golden Retriever Puppy
Tolerant, fun-loving, and patient.
You are eager to please - and attached to your frisbee.

Somehow or other, I knew that would be you. No surprise there. I just can't figure out Corin as a Golden puppy... loveable, cute, and overly-affectionate. It just don't seem right as a dwarf's dog.

You Are a Beagle Puppy
Cheerful, energetic, and happy go lucky.
And your sense of smell is absolutely amazing!

I was figuring on at least one full re-write anyhow, so I guess I'm OK with it.

Heh, yeah, me too.

I got to a spot where I'm still close enough to where I should be that I'm ok with not writing any more today. That was 4k today, if I do the same or a little more tomorrow I should be ok. I may steal Talon's laptop and write on the way to Chicago Thursday or back Friday night. We're not sure what sort of adventures we'll have in Chicago Friday but I want some Chicago-style pizza and there are rumors of a King Tut exhibit at a museum there...
