The Hobbit Hole XXXI - Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

It's nasty here today too. But we're even getting news of the Washington state storms out here.

Pouring down rain with tornado watches.

'sposed to clear up tonight and/or tomorrow...

Not into gastronomical surprises this year? ;o)

Remember, this is the sister that uses ketchup as her base for "chili."

Cousin quickly said "let me go get the ~other~ turkey"...
Then washed off and served the original one she had rescued from the dog.

Quick and resourceful!!

You know, it may look like we waste a lot of time just sitting here chatting to each other, but look at some of the amazing things we learn from each other; how to remake an antique VW, which firearms are the best to own, how to remove purple spots from a seemingly damaged tv, how to build potato guns, and how to rescue a Thanksgiving turkey from the family pets.

Remarkable group, aren't we?

I believe the HH could also raise hens and meat chickens if they had to...

You know...in case of an Apocalypse or something.

We have a pretty useful combination of skills and expertise, I'd agree!

All that remains is for Ramius to pony up on his promise to deliver 6 figger jobs...

Yeah, our power went out one morning, so we couldn't use the furnace, the first year we lived here. We threw some wood in the fireplace and had the downstairs nice and toasty within a half an hour.

Well, we WERE discussing that Hobbit Hole compound at one time. Looks like we'd each come with our own set of skilz!!

My MIL decided she wanted to cook Thanksgiving. She doesn't have the room like I do, but she does have the time. I'm thankful. I'm vey vey vey thankful.

Sorry, I have not been around much to cheerlead our nano writers, but getting a PhD gets in the way of the things I really want to do.

Anyway, Rosie you are doing so good. The last totals I saw was over 26,000. I do not know if you get a prize for finishing, but I think you are going to make it.

Same with JenB. Congratulations on the new job.

Talon, I have not seen numbers from you since the beginning of the month. Are you still writing?

Corin, I thought it was wonderful that you believed that you could start in the middle of the month and maybe do 50,000 words. I think your story should just be about a Senator who is a good man and his destruction (for contrary to the posts here for FR, he did not self-destruct) at the hands of the media who were determined to see him lose. The official count is he lost by less than 10,000 votes. You could purge your tired heart and say all the things that you want to say. I bet the words would flow.

Is your MIL going to cook it at YOUR house? That would be nice. Y'all get the space, you get the break!

I don't think my therapist would allow that.

And Hair would fly to the East Coast just to whack me with a fish...

You could purge by writing and then you would not need a therapist. I can't do anything about the fish though.
